Top 50 brands nigeria

Dear Yintan, my article on top 50 brands Nigeria was deleted by you. i was told that i can still retrieve it from you by requesting for the original article for editing and further review before editing. I will really appreciate if you can help send the deleted material through here. thanksPhemmylola2 (talk) 15:55, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

@Phemmylola2: Hi. I did tag the Top 50 brands nigeria article for speedy deletion but I didn't actually delete it. That was RHaworth (talk · contribs) and you can ask him to undelete it for you. However, do keep in mind that the article was deleted because the company you were writing about doesn't meet the notability guidelines (see WP:CORP) and so I doubt that undeletion, or further work on it, is a sensible option. Kind regards, Yintan  22:10, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the reply. Am a bit new on wikipedia, however, you actually advice that i shouldn't bother improving it, i quite dont understand. I thought the wiki is for information on something that is public. i have known about the top 50 for about 4 years now and they have materials published on major platforms and even a video reference on CNBC Africa. one of their items was referenced in a Harvard school review, their publication on Academia.com had viewership and downloads from over 100 countries around the word. they have been news item in all Nigerian dailies. news about them had even been released in places like South Africa. So am wondering why you advice that i shouldn't bother on possibly improving this Phemmylola2 (talk) 07:05, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

@Phemmylola2: That's just my opinion, I could be wrong. If you think the company meets the guidelines in WP:CORP you should do what you think is best. Yintan  10:54, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Tristan Hunt

Hi Yintan, I added the breaking news about Tristan Hunt and was waiting for the full story to appear before adding the reference, rather than using a "breaking news" item from the BBC, which wouldn't have been the best of references. However, within one minute you reverted me! Whilst it's important to have good sources, it's also important to consider work in progress on articles, particularly if they concern a current event. Reverting within a minute is, I would suggest a little bit over the top, but no worries, it's in there now with a good reference, and thanks for sending me the message. Some users just revert without explanation. 141.6.11.25 (talk) 11:10, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

@141.6.11.25: Hi. Thanks for your message. I agree with you that reverting within a minute is quite strict, and when the article is about (for example) a TV series or a car I probably wouldn't, but when we're talking about a biography you can't be strict enough. In my opinion, anyway. See also WP:BLP. Cheers, Yintan  13:42, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

BABYMETAL Page Edit

Hello, I just made some updates to the BABYMETAL page, mainly the awards for 2017 section and it shows that you edited it back to the original page. I am new to Wikipedia and did the best I could to edit the page correctly. Is there some reason the edit was reversed by you ? Is there some way I can get back in and fix whatever issue there was without starting all over ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akumu-Metal (talkcontribs) 13:00, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

@Akumu-Metal: Thanks for contacting me because I'm not sure what happened there. I've restored your work. My apologies. Yintan  13:09, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

SWARA SAMRAT FESTIVAL

Hello

I had personally attended the SWARA SAMRAT FESTIVAL 2016 programme and found that wikipedia information was insufficient/ needed more updates. This festival is being regularly organised and 2016 was the fifth edition. But wiki does NOT show that. People should know how great was the festival. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.133.232.32 (talk) 15:41, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

@112.133.232.32: That may well be true but Wikipedia needs verifiable sources and I'm afraid your word alone isn't good enough. Please read WP:VERIFY. Thanks, Yintan  15:44, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello again

Will uploading the entry pass be enough evidence? I have seen the facebook page of the organisers also. Kindly check.

I use Wikipedia information for all purposes regularly and feel grateful for that. Just want help you in being richer.

Thanks again — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.133.232.32 (talk) 15:48, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

@112.133.232.32: I understand you're trying to help but no, a pass is not good enough. Sorry. Sources have to be reliable as explained above. Isn't there a review of the festival in an online national newspaper? That would be a good source. Cheers, Yintan  16:03, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Sorry I could not give up.

If a festival where around 2000 people attended (if not more) are missed out by the newspaper can be ignored? You can check with Pandit Tejendranarayan Majumdar, the chief patron, Swara Velvet dot com where tickets were available, The facebook page etc. or the records of Nazrul Mancha which can state the attendance from their Official records.

You can check with the greatest artists of Indian Classical Music like Ustad Zakir Hussain or Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma or the other stalwarts.

Why would published information in a news paper with 100 or 200 circulation be necessary.

Cannot understand the policy of the greatest source of information on earth, ever existed- our WIKIPEDIA. Yes, I say `our', because it has helped me in every aspect of learning.

And what helped me to be me is a part of `ours'.

Again requesting you to check and not rejecting without even trying to know.

Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.133.232.32 (talk) 16:35, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

@112.133.232.32: It's not me that's rejecting unsourced claims, it's Wikipedia policy. As explained on your talkpage. And here. A few times already. Yintan  23:06, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
