Speedy deletion nomination of Fadolmidine
[edit]A tag has been placed on Fadolmidine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 7 01:46, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Astemizole prod.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Astemizole prod.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 01:53, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Minor edits
[edit]Hi Yid! First of all, thank you for your valuable contributions, especially the synthesis diagrams. Please note that you should not mark your additions as minor edits, that option is only for correcting typos, grammatical errors and the like.
Also, for a better formatting of your sources and for your ease, you could do the following:
- Add a DOI in the form {{cite journal|doi=DOI GOES HERE}}, for example {{cite journal|doi=10.1021/jm030091l}}.
- Save the page.
- Use the Wikipedia citation bot (http://toolserver.org/~verisimilus/Bot/DOI_bot/) to add all the relevant information (title of article, authors, journal etc.).
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. Thanks, and keep up the good work! --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 08:49, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- Second this. Also, please categorise your articles. Ironholds (talk) 22:36, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Mubritinib.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Mubritinib.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. el3ctr0nika (Talk | Contribs) 00:01, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Speedy deletion nomination of Amflutizole
[edit]A tag has been placed on Amflutizole requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}

Synthesis routes
[edit]Hey mate good work on all those synthetic routes. Noticed the one you did for Atazanavir is slightly incorrect though, the pyrindyl moeity should be -2-yl not 4-yl. Also if making a new page try not to copy text about the drug from sources, just say something like "(drug) is a (pharmacological activity)" then do a chemistry or synthesis section with your drawing of the synthetic route, and then a references section with the patent or journal article its adapted from. That way you can avoid all these annoying copyright warnings on your talk page! :-) happy editing Meodipt (talk) 12:02, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Hi. You have uploaded this file last march, 31th, on en:wikipedia, under the name of "File:6-aminopenicillanic acid". I have recently re-uploaded this file on commons ([1]), under the name of File:6-aminopenicillanic acid synthesis.png (for more precision), so that any wiki can use it, but after the upload, I saw a small mistake. The core of the several molecules is 7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane (a derivated of beta-lactam), and as I see, you substitued the nitrogen atom (common to the two cycles, just next to the ketone function) with a carbon atom. Could you make the correction, an re-uplaod the corrected file directly on commons [2] please ? Thanks by advance. Rhadamante (talk) 10:10, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Compare this : File:6-Aminopenicillanic_acid.svg to your file. Do you see the difference in the 4-membered ring ? 6-aminopenicillanic acid and its derviatives should beta-lactams, not cyclobutane derivatives. Rhadamante (talk) 15:54, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Your username is an old and highly offensive ethnic insult in English
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, Yid, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it it is an old but highly offensive ethnic insult in English. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:56, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry sir but I see no offense in my choice of username. --Yid (talk) 19:44, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- Please see the article Yid, or any of the articles here. Whatever else it may be, in contemporary English "Yid" is a derogatory term for a Jewish person. I find it offensive and disruptive, and I ask you for the sake of collegiality and civility to change your username. Thank you. Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:21, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- Judging off of the UAA post, it's a synonym for this. Buggie111 (talk) 20:15, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- It's not a synonym, but that word does indeed have the equivalent impact. Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:23, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- Clearly offensive. I don't understand why the editor seems puzzled that others might find it offensive. Dougweller (talk) 20:42, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- It looks to me as if the user originated his account on the Yiddish Wikipedia [3] (although all of their editing has been here). According to our article "Yid" is apparently not offensive in Yiddish, depending on how it is pronounced. Nevertheless, it is offensive here, so the editor has the choice of changing his user name globally, or editing under a different name here. I do not believe editing under that name here should be allowed, regardless of any lack of bad intent on the editor's part. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:43, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- It may not be the same person, as the SUL page indicates that the three accounts are not unified. Though I admit I'm surprised that we could get all the way to 2010 without the name "Yid" ever being registered on the English Wikipedia, that's what appears to be the case. As to the name itself, I can't really share an opinion ... he's made 1000 edits, so I think it's safe to say he didnt pick the name just to cause disruption, but there may be some people that would find it offensive even just used normally. —Soap— 13:24, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

There are in the English language a wide range of racial epithets which relate to Negroes, Hispanics, Jews, Germans, Italians, Japanese and so on almost ad infinitum. Many are not offensive in some contexts, but all are, in my opinion, offensive here when used as usernames. I propose that this editor, who I will without argument concede is a good faith editor, be given a reasonable amount of time - a few days - to request a username change: a block should be considered only if a request is not forthcoming. Yid, please remember that a username change does not result in any of your edits being lost. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 21:51, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

This has been an act of fascism. My username is not at all offensive. Yid is a good name

"Yid" is often used as a pejorative for "Yiddish", and is therefore contrary to WP:U. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 17:39, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Blocking admin, please see Wikipedia:Contributor_copyright_investigations/Yid.
