Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hey, Yay Dad, welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for creating TV-PG/TV-PG-V. We do already have a pretty similar article at TV Parental Guidelines, so what I've done is turn that page into what's called a redirect. Now, if you click on a link that reads TV-PG/TV-PG-V, it'll take you straight to the main article. I hope that's okay! It looked like what you were trying to do. Anyway, thanks again! Redirects are actually really helpful, so making new ones is a good thing. If you have any questions about this, or about anything else really, you're more than welcome to ask me on my talk page. You can also try out the Teahouse, which is a place for new users to get answers to their questions in a friendly, relaxed environment. Wikipedia can be a pretty tricky place at times, so don't be shy about asking any questions that occur to you! Happy editing, and again, welcome! Writ Keeper 03:33, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

VisualEditor

[edit]

Hey Yay Dad :). Thanks so much for your edit here; unfortunately it looks like you accidentally added nowiki tags. This isn't your fault, it's just that the new editor doesn't directly accept markup (like the link you added) - although we're looking at ways to make it handle people trying to use markup in a better way. In the meantime, the userguide here should help with how to add things like links and references. Thanks, and let me know if you see any other issues or have any comments. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Golden age of American animation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Merrily We Roll Along. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies stuff

[edit]

My main issue is that a lot of the info is unsourced, and exceptionally minor. I'm a big Warner Bros. fan, but even I don't care what color the rings are in what year, and I don't see why it's worth noting. Trivialist (talk) 21:39, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:The 1944 rings.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The 1944 rings.jpg, which you've attributed to Warner Brothers. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 23:39, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:MERRIE MELODIES TITLE CARD.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:MERRIE MELODIES TITLE CARD.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:11, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvios and multiple accounts

I see what may be a lot of copy pasting from sources. Are you copy pasting?

You created and added content to The Shell Shocked Egg. Some of that content appears here at IMDB added by "Kevin". Then User:Crow removed copy pasted content from that article.

Now a new account is created that restored content to The Shell Shocked Egg. The name of that account is NOOO KEVIN!!. Quite a coincidence.

Could you please tell me what is going on? Thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:24, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on SERGIO SKYLER! requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". • I'm blocking you for two weeks because you repeatedly removed the speedy deletion template and because your attitude on this page gives off the impression that you "don't care", as you put it. Please edit within Wikipedia's guidelines or this edit may become permanent, not only for you but for User:NOOO KEVIN!! if it's decided that neither of you are WP:NOTHERE to constructively edit Wikipedia. What has kept both of you from being indefinitely blocked has been that you have made some WP:GOODFAITH edits on some pages. However keep in mind that this will not protect the both of you in the long run and if you continue to make articles like SERGIO SKYLER! and (most especially) act like you don't care about Wikipedia's rules, you will most certainly get blocked again, possibly permanently. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:44, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm actually extending this block to three months based on this and on the attack pages that you created and were blocked for back around May 12. There's evidence to suggest that the username NOOO KEVIN!! was created in an attempt to bully/attack/ridicule someone based on the content previously posted at Kevin and andy sex, Andy Yu and Kevin Mo Plays with COC, and NO KEVIN!!. This would be permanent except that again, prior to the actions in May you did seem to be interested in positively contributing to Wikipedia and you made quite a few edits. Wikipedia is not a place for shenanigans. If you want to mess around, do it somewhere else. (Although if you are legit bullying someone, don't do that at all.) I don't see where you've made any beneficial edits since you started creating the attack/nonsense pages around May 12, so if you continue to act like this once your block is up, it will be extended again. You need to understand that this sort of thing has serious consequences. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:57, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Since you've openly admitted that you let your friends use your account to bully people online, I'm going to make this block permanent. Not only does this violate several of Wikipedia's policies (account sharing, vandalism, etc), but it's also a pretty terrible thing to do to another person. I know that you're too young to understand why bullying is wrong, so I can only hope that you will eventually grow out of this and will eventually understand why deliberately setting out to harm and mock someone online is an awful thing. Your friend's userpage was blocked because he made several excuses for his behavior because he didn't want to own up to the fact that he was trying to vandalize Wikipedia and bully someone online- excuses that do not hold water on Wikipedia. Since you clearly don't understand what you did wrong and you seem like you're just trying to advertise for YT hits at this point, I'm going to block you from editing your talk page as well. I don't see where you're going to contribute anything positive from this point on and to be honest, I think that you're just far too young to be editing Wikipedia in general, given your statements here. Unblock Req

Yay Dad (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I do apologize for trolling on Wikipedia two years ago. I also have to admit that my friend and I were trolling under the same IP address and creating vandalism pages, but I have had good contributions in the past. I started to become immature and was ignorant about general Wikipedia rules and was ignorant about sockpuppet and standard offers rules until last year and I am no longer friends with this person anymore and I have changed a lot. You can see my contributions on Wikia while I was away. I mostly contribute to the Looney Tunes and New Looney Tunes Wikis. As such, I would like to be unbanned. I shall cease trolling on Wikipedia in the future. http://looneytunes.wikia.com/wiki/User:Orange_Mo http://newlooneytunes.wikia.com/wiki/User:Orange_Mo http://metro-goldwyn-mayer-cartoons.wikia.com/wiki/User:Orange Mo http://disney.wikia.com/wiki:User:Orange Mo Yay Dad (talk) 04:05, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have not addressed the concerns raised in WP:UTRS. Yamla (talk) 12:03, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unblock Req 1/13/18

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Yay Dad (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I should be unbanned because this ban is no longer necessary to prevent damage or disruption as I will make useful contributions instead possibly contribute to something new outside of golden age material. Perhaps I could contribute on humanitarian North Korean articles. Everyone deserves a second chance and I would like a second chance on the network. I understand that I was banned from editing Wikipedia due to trolling. This trolling won't happen again. There's not much I can say anymore, as I have answered the following below. If my request is not good enough, fine, reject it. The block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or the block is no longer necessary because you understand what you have been blocked for, will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and will make useful contributions instead. Yay Dad (talk) 01:17, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This is a stale unblock request. It has proved insufficiently convincing for any admin to lift your block. You are welcome to make a new unblock request, perhaps after addressing the concerns raised in your WP:UTRS resquest. Yamla (talk) 18:22, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You still have not addressed the concerns raised by WP:UTRS in your unblock request of 2017-12-06. --Yamla (talk) 14:08, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If Checkuser has shown that User:Corinne le bouch has performed edits similar to mine, I have made sockpuppets in the past to evade bans in the past because I was ignorant of the rules but this user is not connected to me. In fact, I have a grudge against them making sockpuppets to evade their ban on the Looney Tunes Wiki. If this is not enough for Wikipedia, if you could please tell me step by step what I need to do to be unbanned and show me an example, that would be great. Much appreciated. Yay Dad (talk) 05:52, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone going to review my unblock request. If declined, will someone explain to me what I need to do to be unblocked as soon as possible. Yay Dad (talk) 02:26, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Probably, admins are waiting for you to address the concerns raised earlier by WP:UTRS, which you still haven't done. --Yamla (talk) 12:03, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I said you should show me because I do not understand. If you aren't going to help me, then I want to request someone who will. Yay Dad (talk) 04:40, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conditional unblock proposal-- second chance

[edit]

You seem to understand that Wikipedia is not a playground, so I am inclined to unblock.

  • To be clear, you will not upload any image you did not take yourself. Screenshots of someone else's work are not acceptable.
  • No more joke pages or attack pages like SERGIO SKYLER! or THIS PAGE or THIS.
  • No more joke edits like THIS.
  • Not a hint of bullying behavior will be tolerated. No "kidding around" or "just having fun"
  • You will not make edits based on watching something on TV and describing the plot. That is WP:OR. You understand all edits must be sourced by WP:reliable sources.
  • I'm not privy to the WP:UTRS. Unblock is cotingent on those issues having been dealt with.
  • Please see WP:BROTHER. I will however take you word for it that the other person won't be involved in moving forward.
  • A checkuser might be useful in determining if you've evaded your block.
  • You understand that any unconstructive edits moving forward may result in reblocking.

I will involve the blocking admins in this discussion-- @HighInBC, Tokyogirl79, and Just Chilling: -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:14, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I need to understand how user:Corinne le bouch Perhaps favonian can provide insight. Adding that block evasion/using multiple accounts is grounds for reblocking. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:20, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • If there was block evasion, I would recommend against unblocking them. I don't see anything active on UTRS at the moment that looks like it would be related to them. It's entirely possible that it was closed since the questions hadn't been answered. I'm going to ping Yamla since they had seen the ticket. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 16:06, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have to say though, that I'm kind of hesitant that they want to edit North Korea related articles, as those tend to be fairly controversial articles. To be very honest, that's something I would really only recommend for people who have a good working knowledge of Wikipedia guidelines and cool heads. I'm not sure if any of these articles are held under sanctions, but I wouldn't be surprised. That's not an area that I would recommend that he work in, given the situation here. Hello! The unaddressed concern from UTRS is around Corinne le bouch (talk · contribs) who has been editing well inside of the past six months. This user has so far refused to address the overlap with that account. --Yamla (talk) 16:15, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have no objection to your argument there. I haven't looked into the relationship between the accounts, but your explanation sounds plausible. --Yamla (talk) 20:03, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Should I not be able to work on humanitarian articles, then I don't know what I want to work on quite yet. I do want to be unblocked on Wikipedia as soon as possible and I won't troll and vandalize articles anymore and I definitely was ignorant of the copyright violation rules back then. Let me figure it out first because I don't think I will continue to work on Golden Age media as often if I do get unblocked. I usually include sources for my edits and if original research is a problem, then I'll adhere to it. I always have been, except for plot summaries. I'll also try to rewrite my plot summaries if they are not taken from Wikia, especially if I wrote the plot summary myself. I was just ignorant of the policies back then.

Also, User:Antoine Lemperrière and User:455jiujo are not my sockpuppets. They definitely are User:Corinne le bouch's.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Alondra Boulevard, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Interstate 110 and Atlantic Boulevard (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:35, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article Euclid Street has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to demonstrate notability beyond being a typical suburban street

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on California Fish Grill requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
