Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Wikipedia:Missing Wikipedians does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Chris Troutman (talk) 02:41, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to other editors' pages

[edit]

It appears that you're a new editor, and so I welcome you to Wikipedia.

What led you to make the changes you've been effectuating to retired editors' pages? How did you find those pages?

Have you ever edited Wikipedia under a different acoount?

Thanks. Take care. - Julietdeltalima (talk) 05:10, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'd been browsing Wikipedia anonymously before creating this account. That's how I found them. YappityYapp (talk) 06:12, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of administrators/Inactive

Wikipedia:List of administrators/Inactive is updated daily by a bot. Your edits to that page will be overwritten the next time it runs. If you have an issue with the bot's results please discuss it with the bot's owner, Rick Block (talk · contribs). Thanks, Cabayi (talk) 08:54, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This and the edit pattern of making many useless minor edits to get extended-confirmed status clearly points out to block evasion.--Ymblanter (talk) 18:35, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am NOT the owner of the account User:Hoggardhigh; I am his brother. I registered with a different email address ((Redacted)) than the one he had on his original account ((Redacted)). We both browse Wikipedia often, but whereas he created his (original) account almost 9 years ago, I created mine less than 2 weeks ago.

Decline reason:

And you make the same kinds of pointless edits. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 20:05, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

If you unblock me, I promise to start making genuinely constructive edits. And remember, I am not the owner of this account.

Decline reason:

We knew you were lying and you subsequently admitted you were lying. Yamla (talk) 07:20, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest revoking TPA, since the master is globally locked anyway, and this becomes a time sink.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:36, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Admission

[edit]

Okay, I'll admit: I am the owner of this account (and more than a few others), I opened this account using my brother's email address, and all edits attached to this account are my edits. I'm not even sure he (my brother) visits Wikipedia that much anyway. That said, if a new account gets created under the same email address as this one, safely assume it's truly his; he would probably make a better Wikipedian than me. So go ahead; remove TPA for this account, globally lock the account, do anything you are willing to do. It's not like I care. Thank you. YappityYapp (talk) 02:35, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And BTW, I am the only owner of all those account, no matter what User:BilCat and User:Ahunt may have suspected on the latter's talk page.

What I am saying is, I no longer want anything to do with this account, and would like for it to be completely blocked (as in globally locked).

When I opened this account exactly two weeks ago, I was under the impression that using a different email address than the one from my original account (Hoggardhigh) would prevent anyone from knowing I was making all of the edits. If I am not mistaken, the email address I used for this account wasn't visible to anyone, but I'm not sure - hence why I would like an explanation for this.

Oh, and BTW, I would like for this talk page to be completely blanked except for everything in this section.

Thanks. YappityYapp (talk) 06:00, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To my knowledge, your email had nothing to do with your getting caught. As one who has spotted many of your socks, it's quite obvious when it's you. An admin can address the blanking issues with you. My best advice is to stop editing on Wiki altogether, as is required by your many blocks anyway. You're not good at hiding, unless you really want to be caught. Which you will be.
