plant nutrition

[edit]

How does this article compare to the way we talk about plant nutrition in class?  In the article, the author defined two criteria for an element to be essential for plant growth: 1.In its absence the plant is unable to complete a normal life cycle. 2.Or that the element is part of some essential plant constituent or metabolite. In one of our hand outs, we defined essential element: 1.Without it a plant cannot complete its life cycle. 2.No other element can substitute it. 3.Absence causes abnormalities. 4.Has a role in structure or metabolism. Moreover, some of the key points in our class wasn't mentioned. Such as CEC, BS, soil buffering capacity, etc.

Is there anything that distracted you? Why there is a hyphen in micro-nutrients but not in macronutrients.

In the article: The micronutrients (or trace minerals): boron (B), chlorine (Cl), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni). and cobalt (Co). Maybe we should write comma but not full point after nickel.

Is anything missing that could be added? The concentrations unit of ppm should be explain more detailed. We can also add some linkage to the hydroponic park to add more detailed explanation.

Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you? I think Nutrient deficiency part is redundancy because the effect of nutrient deficiency has already be introduced in the introduction of each element.

Is anything missing that could be added? If we can give each element a summary, it will be much better and clearer. Because some of the elements may have the same influence and they may have just a little differences. –—YURU CHANG (talk) 04:49, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
