Minor edits

[edit]

You recently deleted a sentence from Emmanuel Macron and marked this as a "minor edit." I believe you have misunderstood the minor edit button. Please review the policy at WP:MINOR. Minor edits are superficial in nature and do not affect the content of the article. Even if you believe that the edit you are making is a good one, if you are adding or subtracting information from the article, then the edit does not qualify as minor. Deleting an entire sentence from an article is not a minor edit. Cheers! LacrimosaDiesIlla (talk) 15:57, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I considered it a minor edit because the information contained in that sentence is irrelevant to Emmanuel Macron's election, and seems to have been posted to show that his appointed Prime Minister failed to announce his choice of ministers as planned, as he did it 24 hours later than anticipated (considering that is the fastest a new government has been formed and announced under the current French Republic Constitution). That sounds judgmental, and should not as such be allowed in Wikipedia. Hence I totally agree with you, it is a MAJOR edit in that sense. I will change that (if I can). Thanks for reminding me. There is a thin line between minor and major...It's a matter of personal judgment. and not an easy thing to do. But thanks again.

I'm pretty sure that once you've submitted the edit you can't change whether or not it's marked as minor. I'm not sure that the sentence was intended to convey the bias you found in it (I didn't see it that way myself), but I did ultimately agree with your decision to remove it due to your explanation of the material as irrelevant, which is why I didn't try to revert it. I just wanted to remind you about the minor edit policy. Cheers! LacrimosaDiesIlla (talk) 17:38, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate your feed back. True I can't change minor to something else. The facts in the sentence have no bearing here. I reverted the edit, edited again and did not mark it as minor.. Thanks again. ☺.Trying to chase any partisan or judgmental stuff posted in WP, and stick to that rule if I do post anything.
