Speedy deletion nomination of Harrison Powell
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
The article Harrison Powell has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Please also note that articles must be on notable subjects and should cite to reliable sources which verify their content. Please only repost the article in a form that meets these standards. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —C.Fred (talk) 15:04, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Harrison Powell
[edit]A tag has been placed on Harrison Powell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - As noted at Talk:Harrison Powell, junior players are not notable, with very limited exceptions. Unless Powell is named to represent Wales in international competition, he should not have an article. —C.Fred (talk) 15:38, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Because Powell does not meet the criteria of WP:ATHLETE, his article was deleted. —C.Fred (talk) 19:28, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- If he goes on to make the England cricket team, I can look back and say, "Yep, he was an unknown athlete at 14, he didn't deserve an article then" - but once he's made the England team and gotten the accompanying press coverage, then he can have an article. Until then, neither notable nor verifiable. —C.Fred (talk) 21:03, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
