I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Pictures in articles

[edit]

Hello Sarah and thanks for the message. You can make a table or gallery for pictures. I think a gallery is the easiest, fastest and simplest way of adding pictures to an article. However, to add the pictures, they cannot violate any copyright. The best way to add pictures is to take them yourself and upload them yourself and add the proper release copyright license that basically says you took them and you release them to Wikipedia (or the public). I can add a little more about this later if you want.

Once all your pictures are uploaded, go to the article, and put

<gallery>
img.jpg|Your caption here
img2.jpg|your caption here
example.jpg|your caption here
</gallery>
You can add as many as you want.  – Tommy2010message 12:41, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As far as the licensing, I'd say choose the Creative Commons Attributions 3.0 -- basically you tell Wikipedia that you own the file and release it publicly as long as they credit you, or you can release it freely into the internet for whatever reason. and no problem!  – Tommy2010message 12:46, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
