Hi. Would you able to send/request the article at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests for it to be copyedited throughout soon? Thanks! 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 09:58, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Done I have submitted it. I will probably help with copyediting as well, although I have not done a large amount of major copyediting to articles before. Xeroctic (talk) 10:05, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- I think it's best to leave it to copyeditor to save your time. Thanks 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 10:25, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I am patrolling redirects and noticed this new creation. It says it's a redirect from an old camelcase title, but (1) doesn't seem to be camelcase and (2) doesn't seem currently useful for navigation. I know we don't delete them now in case someone else is relying on them, but I'm a little confused by the history of this page/how long it's been deleted for. Rusalkii (talk) 05:48, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- It appears on User:Emijrp/FirstPages, which I why I recreated the redirect. The old history has not been undeleted, which may have been the source of confusion. Xeroctic (talk) 16:09, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- I have added {{Redirect from subpage}}, as that was the intended RCAT I was probably meant to put on the redirect. Xeroctic (talk) 16:11, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- Got it, thanks for clarifying. Rusalkii (talk) 21:51, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Regarding The People's Union USA and the Blackout Boycott
[edit]Hello.
First of all, I am not a representative of The People's Union USA. I'm a person who saw the planned boycotts and nobody wanted to tell me what they were about, so I asked a few friends and they showed me the home page.
I shouldn't have removed your article as a reference in my edit. Sorry about that; your reference article is perfect for explaining how multiple groups and individuals joined in the exercise for their own reasons regardless of the core purpose of the event organizers (People's Union).
I would however like to note that the implied scope of "various, including" makes it sounds limited; like there were some businesses that were not intended to be affected by this boycott. The action was directed at the entire American economy; big businesses, small businesses, estate sales, lemonade stands, that friend who needs a loan until payday, the kid begging for coins so they can buy from a vending machine, everyone, everywhere. The reason for this is because the People's Union founder sees something inherently oppressive about America's approach to capitalism. Future events will target specific companies: March 7-14 will boycott Amazon. March 21 - 28 will boycott Nestle. April 7-14 will boycott Walmart. And then the next total economic blackout boycott is scheduled for April 18. So you see, for the organizers, this first boycott was to motivate Americans to feel like they could be part of a resistance movement. That's what people may miss about People's Union when they point fingers at DEI and transgender rights and resisting the Republican party as being causes for the boycott, and how much impact a single day can make; People's union says they care about those causes as much as the next person, but it's not what they're about. Their purpose for this first boycott was to unite Americans so that they can coordinate people for future efforts. I guess you could call it a PR stunt. Their ultimate goal is to restructure various aspects of the American economic system; first by organizing people and collecting donations, then becoming federally recognized as a tax exempt union, then by lobbying politicians as a PAC, then by using united efforts with American consumers to intimidate businesses into accepting their ultimatums. That is the framework laid out on their "Unionizing People" page, and that is the cause for this and future boycotts. The fact that it lines up with the blatant disrespecting of a number of civil rights is happenstance; a good opportunity to grab people while they're riled up. 67.183.168.240 (talk) 13:06, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
