Introduction to XEAA

[edit]

Hi guys! Here I wanted to clarify something in my defense. Before today I had only one very polite and constructive argument with Zodon about Human Papillomavirus. Together we reached consensus and I removed his comments from my page. Because the conflict was resolved on his page I did not want my page to look as if I am a bad guy (or a bad girl). OK? It looks bad already. From today, I am going to answer all criticism here, on this page.

My qualification

[edit]

All my life I am a biologist - from wet (lab) to dry (databases and reviews). I have fine education and have Ph.D. in biochemistry and microbiology. Most importantly, nothing really interested me more than living critters. I am bound ethically not to tell my present affiliation for fear that my own opinions might be taken for opinions of the organisation I am working for.

My activities in Wikipedia

[edit]

I placed several links to GeneGo, Inc. I am not affiliated with GeneGo. Because my familiarity with systems biology I found it odd that other companies where mentioned where GeneGo was not - there was a clear bias. For decades I accumulated a lot of information about some organisms, information that is of interest for many people and that is not easily available in conscise clear manner elsewhere. I also enjoy making diagrams and illustrations. I added some links from Wikipedia to these pages. Some of links were kicked out, some stayed. And I honestly believe that people who visiting them find something new. Only once I tried to defend my Papillomavirus link, but I backed off and never tried to edit this page again. Same with the "Cattle" page - I had no intentions to revert Bob's edit. Most traffic to my pages come from images. I have lots of plans, found fascinating topics which are ven not in Wikipedia yet.

My profit

[edit]

Finally, in October, last year I created biologically-oriented pages where I started sharing the information with internet visitors. Currently, about 500 people are visiting these pages everyday. At the beginning of January I added GoogleAdSense to the pages and for all this time (as for March 28, 2009) I earned $9.89 total.

My point

[edit]

If you guys think that my links are unfit for specific Wikipedia page - just say so specifically on the spot. I am not "spammer", not "link-farmer", I do not sell anything, I do not vandalize information, and I do not personally attack contributors. I welcome your using information from my pages to expand your stub articles such as Owl Limpet, Giberella, etc. (I mentioned it on during discussion of Papillomavirus with Zodon). All my pages contain extended bibliography.

Dear John

[edit]

I never encountered you before and have not seen your previous warnings. I resent your "last warning" because you did not care to explain your position. I took your warning as a sheer threat. Blacklisting with search engines sounds especially unfair. I take it that either you enjoy your administrative poweres or there are simply no people more harmful to the Wikipedia project than me. Honestly, I am shocked and have nothing to say. Have a great weekend.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. --John (talk) 01:40, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The links you are placing around appear to go to a corporate website. There is no identification on the website nor any indication of who created it. In addition, it also appears that most of the editing you are doing is inserting links to this, or companion, sites. See WP:EL. Thanks Bob98133 (talk) 03:42, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
