Regarding edits to Shannonbridge

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Shannonbridge do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bblogspot\.com' . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), they are not written by a recognised, reliable source or contain original research. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! SquelchBot (talk) 20:52, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MOS edits

[edit]

A few comment on your and my Shannonbridge edits. The Manual of Style tell you what should be linked and how often - once for any one word - NOT MORE. I removed them and you reinstated them, so I have removed the over-linking again. Please do not reinstate because it is unnecessary to have redundant duplicate links. Using spaces to push images around does not work properly. It may look good in your browser at your screen resolution, but that is not what other people may have. Use a hard break instead of additional spaces. The see also section does not need items that are already in the text - again this is redundant use of links - don't do it. The see also section is for links to articles that are NOT mentioned in the text. The whole article seems way to touristy and not encyclopaedic. You should prune it and use fewer images. The MOS suggests use of images to supplement the text, not just images for the sake of images or just because you can add them. I suggest you consult several of the links in the welcome box I have left for you above. (I discuss where I first post, so you can reply here as I will be watching this page.) Cheers ww2censor (talk) 16:17, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh thanks. I was wondering where the links had gone in the article and see also section. Also I put them back before I had read this but I undone that (sorry). I de-touristed it and removed a pic or two, it actually looks better with your suggestiones. Thanks for your help.--Xcghn --Xcghn (talk) 17:45, 27 January 2008 (UTC)(talk) 17:14, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You don't need to start a new section when replying to an old topic, just start immediately after the last post with a colon (or more colons to indent more) before you start writing. The article looks better but now still needs the references properly done and there are still a few duplicate wikilinks that should be removed. I'll do the wikilinks now if I can. Unspecified source for Image:Boats_Shannonbridge.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Boats_Shannonbridge.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:04, 15 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 13:04, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Hi Xcghn!
We thank you for uploading Image:Moorings Shannonbridge Ireland.JPG, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
