License tagging for Image:Fernando Verdasco at Open Seat 2006.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Fernando Verdasco at Open Seat 2006.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:06, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Gonzalo Román del Bono, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Oo7565 18:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, what's the source for this edit? I can't find any reference...plus Luis Marin Sabater was playing for a Segunda Division team... it's quite unlikely his call up... --necronudist (talk) 22:18, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Allow me to chime in. Here's a source I found: [1]. Whether it's credible or not, I don't know. Chanheigeorge (talk) 23:09, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
As you said, it's strange that a player without La Liga experience is called up for a World Cup, even if it's 1934, but we can't add suppositions. Hope someone will help: I'll revert your edit and post on the talk page 'cause indeed you can be right. --necronudist (talk) 09:36, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Great, thanks for your kindness! --necronudist (talk) 09:46, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- P.S.: If you're a es.wikipedia user, please post something there! --necronudist (talk) 09:52, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I mean...post to some user, or in some talk pages (but I think there isn't a 1934 WC squads article), maybe someone knows something more. --necronudist (talk) 09:59, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Template:User Xerez fan
[edit]A tag has been placed on Template:User Xerez fan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:49, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Roberto Rojas (Chilean footballer), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Roberto Rojas. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:02, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Tennis Match Results Search Links
[edit]Hi Xavier, I noticed you had added links for Pablo Andujar, so I looked for other links and came across Danie Gimeno Traver, but the Match Results links was not working, so I fixed it.
The Ranking History search only does one player at a time (for now), so it looks to find each name piece entered somewhere in Steve G's ranking file. So "Pablo Andujar" works, "Pablo And" works, "Pab Andu", etc. Even "P And" would find something (the first match with a "P" and an "And" in the name). And "Dani Gim" works, too.
But the Match Results search can find multiple players (separate names by commas), or match scores, or (LL) lucky losers, etc. So it does a straight text search of Steve G's raw data (you could even search on "d. (1)Roger Federer" and find matches where Fed lost as the #1 seed).
So "Pablo And" again works fine. But "Dani Gime" does not work, because that is not the consecutive wording that appears in the raw results files being searched.
"iel Gime" would work, "Gimeno" works, "niel Gim", etc. Anything consecutive works.
I hope this enables you to add these kind of links more effectively, and I'm glad to see you found them valuable enough to include on player bio pages.
I know it would seem that the Ranking and Match Results should work the same way, but since Match Results allows multiple player searches (for instance, if you were writing about Wimbledon, and wanted to say that Federer had an easier path to the final than Nadal, you could search on "Federer,Nadal" for the week of Wimbledon and use that link as the reference source), the two searches do have to work slightly differently, albeit confusingly at first. Request for wider input on discussion at WikiProject Tennis
[edit]Hi, there is an extremely long and muddled discussion going on at WP:Tennis about the tournament tables found on tennis player articles (i.e. this type of table), and I'm notifying you as you identified yourself as a member of the project. The dispute is over the "Tournament Name" column, with the options being to either use the "sponsored tournament name" - in other words, the name involving the sponsor, for example Internazionali BNL d'Italia - or the "non-sponsored tournament name" - in other words, Rome Masters. I appreciate that this conversation is very long and convoluted, so a brief summary can be found here, which is also where I request the discussion continues. Thanks, rst20xx (talk) 23:08, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi there. I m planning to put this for deletion because the tournaments that make up the schedule change each year. Mayumashu (talk) 01:34, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
ATP International Series Gold tournaments
[edit]Hello, I've just seen your merged the International Series Gold and Championship Series template, and are in the process of removing links to the Championship Series original template. I think it a bad idea, and I suggest you stop removing the links as of now, to take the time to discuss it. --Oxford St. (talk) 22:32, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
My opinion: of course the International Series Gold events are the continuation of the Championship Series events (just like the Championship Series was the continuation of the Super Series, and the ATP World Tour 500 is the continuation of the International Series Gold), but still - they are different series, and should be treated as such. I really believe having different templates is necessary, to reflect the evolution of the men's circuits from the Grand Prix times to the different stages of the ATP's history. I think merging everything into one big template would be misleading to the readers. --Oxford St. (talk) 22:40, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of ATP University
[edit]A tag has been placed on ATP University requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello ! I've been working on ATP Challenger Tour tournaments articles recently, and yesterday I started adding the doubles champions and runners-up to the Open Castilla y León article. The problem is I can't find the scores for the first finals (between 1986 and 1991). Since you had the singles finals scores when you created the article in February 2008, I wondered if you knew where I could look for the same info to complete the doubles table:
Year | Champion | Runner-up | Score |
---|---|---|---|
1990 | Fernando Garcia Lleo Jesus Manteca |
Francisco Clavet Javier Sanchez |
– |
1989 | Sergio Casal Emilio Sanchez |
Francisco Clavet Javier Sanchez |
– |
1988 | Hugo Chapucu Juan Antonio Rodriguez |
Francisco Clavet Jose Clavet |
– |
1987 | Aniceto Alvarez Ernesto Vazquez |
Victor Pecci Hugo Chapucu |
– |
1986 | Roberto Sanchez Trivino |
Francisco Clavet Fuentetaja |
– |
Also, do you know exactly what the event was before 1991 ? The ITF website seems to say there was no Challenger in Segovia before '91, and I'm not sure it was a Future either. Was it a club event, or perhaps a national championship ? Cheers, --Don Lope (talk) 18:03, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
