July 2022[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Niles West High School. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Stop doing this. The alumni list is not his bio. It is not the place to list information about him that is in his article. And his attendance is not sourced. Do not remove the cn. And please read WP:MINOR Meters (talk) 03:44, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove maintenance templates without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Arnie Bernstein, you may be blocked from editing. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 04:44, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi XDWALNUTXX! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Niles West High School several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Niles West High School, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 04:46, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I didn’t “revert my edit” I changed it to something different each time. The information is factual and you have no reason to delete factual information. XDWALNUTXX (talk) 04:50, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I’ve reached out to the other guy and he refuses to cooperate with me, even though I’ve had confirmation from the person being written about to make the necessary changes. Sorry for coming off as rude. XDWALNUTXX (talk) 04:51, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't "refuse to cooperate with you." I simply wasn't online for the half hour between when you posted on my talk page (as an IP) and when you posted above. I'll repeat what I said on my talk page:
  1. It's not his article. It's Wikipedia's article about him.
  2. It does not matter what he wants to see in the article. It's about what reliable sources say about him. We're not going to include unsourced content or puffery on your say so.
  3. Since he is your uncle you have a conflict of interest in editing the article. Please read WP:COI. Meters (talk) 08:46, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove maintenance templates from Wikipedia articles without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Arnie Bernstein. Stop removing maintenance templates. You source does not mention his undergraduate degree, and his own web page is not considered a independent reliable source. And stop marking your edits as minor. Meters (talk) 08:53, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And I've removed him from the alumni list at Niles West High School. You removed the cn three times. Yes you provided a source. but it does not mention his high school. Source it or don't add it. Meters (talk) 08:59, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Meters bro, I can send you a picture of his degree or a yearbook that he’s in, but many of the other people on that page aren’t sourced either. He is a graduate of the 1978 class of NWHS. I put another website with that information, which you removed yourself. What’s your problem? I’ve looked at your other “talks” and you’ve done the same thing to other people. He is a notable alumni from that school. If you want to but a citation needed there, fine, but a removal is ridiculous. XDWALNUTXX (talk) 13:59, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please review the guidelines for biographies of living people. Unsourced information may be challenged and removed. The burden is on the editor adding the information to support it with reliable sources—and ideally, independent sources. —C.Fred (talk) 15:11, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, XDWALNUTXX. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Arnie Bernstein, you may have a conflict of interest (COI).
