[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Lubbock, Texas, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Your additions will be valuable to the article if you can include citations. Let me know if you need any help with that. →Wordbuilder (talk) 19:14, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response. You have quite a rich and interesting heritage.
- Please understand that I wasn't doubting the veracity of what you added to the article. I removed it because verifiability is a core policy of Wikipedia and your material did not cite third-party sources. The source does not have to be online. It can be printed (e.g. a newspaper or book) or broadcast (e.g. a television show or news report). However, Wikipedia does not allow original research so oral histories and personal movies that are not documented by a third-party source are not allowed.
- See WP:CITE about citing the material you do have (e.g. the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal). If you need help with that, just let me know.
- Finally, you have not been blocked and are free to continue editing in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines. Your contributions are appreciated. Feel free to contact me anytime you have a question. Thanks! →Wordbuilder (talk) 16:07, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
