How do I add a picture to an article? Wowzam (talk) 19:34, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, I think I understand. Do images have to be approved? Wowzam (talk) 20:03, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have quite a learning curve... Start with WP:IMAGE page including the pages in the "See Also" section. If they are your pictures (e.g. taken yourself, with your camera) then ideally upload the files at commons:Commons:Upload, then they can be used by any Wikipedia worldwide, not just the English one.

thank you. I will do that

A tag has been placed on James O'Keefe, MD, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. O'Keefe

[edit]

Undoubtedly, you've seen the multiple reverts done over this article's history, of which you are mostly, if not entirely responsible for. The primary concerns, as addressed at the top of the article, are that you appear to have a close relationship with the article subject and that most cited information is based on primary sources. For content to be included in please cite information that can be verified by independent, third-party references. The lack of third-party references is one reason why the article is also under question for its notability. Please reach out to me if you have questions; either here, my talk page, or on the article's talk page for a wider audience. BarkeepChat 20:52, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did not expect that the primary sources I added which are peer-reviewed studies published in prestiougus journals to be flagged as inadequate. I will work on adding third party references for additional support of claims made.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on James O'Keefe (cardiologist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.canadiangay.org/GHist/Jun/08.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
