Request reason:

Graham87 asserts that I am not here to 'build an encyclopedia'. After 2 days work, amounting to 40 edits in total, how does this user know? I am actually here to refine and improve. All I have done so far is to change the date format on some articles to accord with contemporary English usage. In some cases, the changes I made improved the article's consistency (eg "Franz von Hipper"). Such changes of date format can hardly be regarded as "disruptive". Graham87's reactive and impulsive approach, by summarily reverting ALL my edits and then applying a perfunctory block, is highly discouraging and seems merely to demonstrate arbitrary, misplaced annoyance. Only the first of these reversions is qualified, and then only by the non sequitur "he's not associated with the UK", as if dmy applies only the UK - what nonsense! I do hope Graham87's attitude towards novice editors is not the typical approach of an experienced Wikipedia editor.Worm of Cans (talk) 10:01, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have, as you admit, changed a significant number of date formats from the accepted Wikipedia format to your own personal preference. This is disruptive, although I could accept that your motivation was not that of a vandal. Are you prepared to learn the basic rules of Wikipedia , rather than going your own way, if unblocked?--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:34, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I changed a significant number of date formats. That much I admit. But to suppose that the changes I made were not an "accepted Wikipedia format" is a distortion: Wikipedia permits a variety of formats. My motivation is common sense and consistency above mere personal preference.
