- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It is a rejected submission at Wikipedia:Articles for creation, and it has not been edited in over six months. (See section G13 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Scholarships.com
[edit]Hello WonLove,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Scholarships.com for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Some advice
[edit]I did see your note on the "scholarships.com" article. I see you're relatively new. So, to address what you're asking. To establish notability, we do need sources that are reliable, but that's only part of the equation. Those reliable sources must also cover the subject in reasonable depth. The references you listed either just dropped the site's name, or briefly mentioned it for no more than a paragraph in the context of work that was substantially about something else. That's not enough. Ideally, the cited reference should be mainly or entirely about the article subject. But at the very least, it needs to go into a good degree of depth and detail about it, not just mention it in passing. Otherwise, the "article" is really just a directory entry, and that's not part of Wikipedia's purpose. I hope that helps to clear things up, but feel free to ask if you have any questions. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:42, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your assistance and explanation Seraphimblade, I really appreciate it. I just don't understand why everyone is being so quick to delete some of my entries, rather than bolster the article. I think I am beginning to understand, but am also frustrated at some of my efforts so quickly just being summarily discarded. I will work on it and try again. WonLove (talk) 15:07, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
Thanks again for your assitance. Unfortunately, now I am unable to make another attempt at publishing a strong article steeped in references from multiple sources, etc. as only admins are allowed to post on the topic unless I can get it "undeleted"? WonLove (talk) 22:16, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- I did create protect the article, which is pretty standard when inappropriate articles keep getting created on something. What I would suggest doing is creating the article as a draft, such as at Draft:Scholarships.com. While drafts aren't totally unrestricted (they can't be blatant ads, copyright violations, hit pieces, etc.), they get a lot more leeway than mainspace articles and aren't required to immediately show notability like mainspace articles are, so that gives you more time to work on it. Once you think the article is properly referenced and ready to go, you can have articles for creation review it. The reviewer will either approve it to move to mainspace or point out any problems that need fixed first. If it gets approved as a draft, I'll happily unprotect the title for the move to the main encyclopedia. I would generally recommend a newer editor create drafts anyway, as selecting an appropriate topic for a new article is one of the more challenging things we do. Or start out with edits to existing articles, and move on to new ones once you have some experience under your belt. Seraphimblade Talk to me 00:42, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
OK, thanks for your help Seraphimblade. I actually didn't even realize until recently that anybody could/would see a "Draft" prior to my submitting it and it was deleted without my knowledge, as the email I had associated with the account was not functioning properly and I wasn't notified. I will try again, using your advice. WonLove (talk) 14:12, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Marianne Comtell
[edit]The article Marianne Comtell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Scatterbrain (KXM album) , disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see WP:MOSALBUM to better format album articles Jennica✿ / talk 01:38, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

The most recent draft includes two citations using in-depth articles from reliable sources. I do not understand why the submission was once again refused. This is significant coverage, not mere mentions, of a website that has been around for nearly 20 years and is linked to by high schools and colleges around the country, among other institutions. Your draft article, Draft:Scholarships.com
[edit]Hello, WonLove. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Scholarships.com".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}

, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 08:16, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
