Some tips

[edit]

Thanks for your note. Here are a few tips if you're working on science articles: instead of writing out all the details of a reference you can add <ref>{{cite doi|<paper doi>}}</ref>, replacing <paper doi> with the relevant doi for the paper and then a computer will do the rest of it for you, including adding a link to the paper. You can also do it with {{cite pmid|<paper pmid>}} too. Let me know if you have any other questions. SmartSE (talk) 23:09, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article William Schull has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- Patchy1 21:33, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits at ENCODE

[edit]

Hi,

I noticed you included a citation at ENCODE that has Dr. Dan Graur as the primary author. Please be aware that criticism sections, while "allowed", are frowned upon, as they often become unwieldy. It is much preferred to integrate the criticism into the text of the rest of the article where appropriate. I have reverted this edit because of the WP:CRIT guideline. (I mistakenly also interpreted the abstract as the entirety of the paper, and mentioned this in my edit summary, for which I apologize.) There is also a strong preference for secondary sources, and my reading of your citation suggests it is more of a primary source.

I also noticed that you have made substantial edits to the Dan Graur article. I wonder, do you have some connection to this person? If so, you may want to review our plain and simple conflict of interest guidelines page, or perhaps the larger policy page on dealing with conflicts of interest. Thanks, and if i can answer any questions please feel free to ask me on my talk page. -- [ UseTheCommandLine ~/talk ] # _ 17:37, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
