Thanks for adding some material to this article. This is fascinating stuff. If what you added is from a printed source, we should paraphrase it or use some quotes, as it looks like a bit much for fair use. If you wrote it, then congrats!... but it should still get some references added. --Brianyoumans 17:21, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, much of this is from various sources and it is almost all paraphrased, but I'll come back later with more citations.Wlashley 20:20, 23 January 2007 (UTC) Wlashey[reply]

Wonderfull! I love this article! I am looking forward a better sectioning and more pics! Vb 12:00, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Wlashley. Would you mind popping back over to minstrel show and adding sources for the edits you made? I've been trying to keep everything in that article fully sourced for a possible Featured Article attempt in the near future. Thanks! — BrianSmithson 03:32, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Brian - I have added references to Cantwell and Sotriopoulas in the reference section. Many of my references (Lott, Cockrell, Malone, Toll, etc.) were already listed as your references, but this should sum up the sources directly used. Mea culpa.Wlashley 11:54, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, thanks. Sorry to beat a dead horse even more, but can you specify what information came form what source? I need to add inline citations for those bits so the article will pass FA. I'm guessing the stuff on hokum comes from Bluegrass Breakdown, but does the Handy mention come from Sotriopoulas? And do you have page numbers? Thanks again, — BrianSmithson 13:18, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brian, I regret to say that I do not have a page number for much of this. I put this together from notes I compiled while researching for another subject (country and western music parks and the place of these parks in the history of bluegrass music). I will try to revisit these sources and find the pages (this will take a little while). You are correct in that the Handy mention does come come from Sotriopoulas. A short article bout the same is at:

http://www.pbs.org/jazz/exchange/exchange_minstrel.htm

The entry on hokum comes from reading Cantwell and Cockrell, but also but also from listening to recordings, such as Charlie Poole, Bo Carter, Memphis Minnie, Tampa Red, Cliff Carlisle, etc ; I will list these in my hokum article as references. Hope that will suffice.
