Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Umar's Assurance, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ibn al-Jawzi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Islam template

As you noticed, there was some funny business going on. The template might need to be watched for a bit longer. I'm not sure, I just have a feeling based on experience. MezzoMezzo (talk) 07:47, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Template talk

Hi, User:Wiqi55 i have noted that the edits on Jesus in Islam here are been reverted a number of times although their are only 2 incoming links as here the idea is to use the template that can serve the purpose of infobox as well as navbox and i have tried to dealt with most objections so is it wiser to start a TfD. Please do provide your opinion on this matter. --Ibrahim ebi (talk) 11:47, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

FWIW, I agree that the previous template was useful and looked better. But I'm not sure if this is inline with WP policies on template vs infoboxes (you probably know more about this than me). In any case, sorry for the late reply and thanks for your efforts in improving these templates/articles. Wiqi(55) 02:32, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Bilal Being A Shia

Thanks for pointing out the error in the source. I have provided book sources. Historical documents from both western and nonwestern sources point out that Bilal never gave Abu Bakr Bay'ah (oath of allegiance). Since he refused to give bay'ah to Abu Bakr he is not considered Sunni. A person like Khalid ibn al-Walid or Umar are considered to be Sunnis because they gave bay'ah to Abu Bakr. In addition, Bilal is seen as a shia of Ali. This term refers to being both a companion of Ali and one who fallows Ali's teachings. Hence he is a Shia. Khalid ibn Waleed is not seen as a shia of Ali because he opposed Ali and did not follow his teachings. Similarly, it would be foolish to say that the Pope is a Lutheran because the Pope does not fallow the teachings of Martin Luther. He is catholic because he fallows the catholic principles. Thanks for pointing out the error in the source. I have provided book sources. Zabranos (talk) 04:52, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

The word "Sunni" does not appear in the infoboxes of Khalid ibn al-Walid or Umar. So for consistency we should also remove "Shi'a" from Bilal. This would also be more accurate as reliable sources do not refer to him as Shi'a. In fact, only one of your sources is reliable, The Medieval Islamic Civilization, and it does not claim that he was a Shi'a. The other sources are just expressing "Shi'a beliefs" and therefore cannot be used for stating objective facts. It's also a long held belief, even in Shi'a circles, that his refusal to give bay'a (assuming it was true) does not imply that he favored Ali (raa) in any way. So for now, I think removing "Shi'a" from the infobox will be more consistent with the other articles you mentioned and more inline with neutral and reliable sources. November 2013

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Abdullah ibn Saba' may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • In traditional Shi'a sources, Ibn Saba' sometimes figured as an extremist (''[[Ghulat|ghali]]'')). It is said that [[Jafar Sadiq]], the sixth Shia' Imam and the founder of Shi'a Islamic fiqh,

Pact of Umar

Hi Wiqi55, thank you for your contributions to the Pact of Umar article. However, I don't think these edits are WP:OR because they come from secondary sources which I cited, but let's work out how they could be better phrased. I'm eager to add quality information in the best way possible. Please respond on my talk page. Thank you. Bucillag234 (talk) 23:05, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
