Wikification

[edit]

Hi, thanks for asking, I'm happy to explain.  :) And yes, I know that the sizable backlogs can be quite daunting. Generally when I'm tagging articles, I'm going through several hundred articles very rapidly with AWB, so I have to make a quick determination on tags, based usually on the top paragraph, or sometimes a more detailed reading. In the case of both those articles that you mentioned, I noticed that they didn't have a bolded title at the beginning -- that, combined with the fact that these articles were already in Special:Uncategorizedpages and therefore lacking categories, is usually enough for me to place a {{wikify}} tag on an article. If I've accidentally tagged other articles which didn't need wikification though, I do apologize! Hope that helps explain, Elonka 22:36, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Lawrence Rosen

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Lawrence Rosen, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Lawrence Rosen seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Lawrence Rosen, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Windymilla! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Lawrence Rosen - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Maryland Association of Correctional & Security Employees has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references found no published (gBooks) support for the content of this article. Fails WP:N and WP:V

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. FYI - since you've previously edited the article. Bazj (talk) 11:47, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. "Smallest number" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Smallest number. Since you had some involvement with the Smallest number redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Steel1943 (talk) 22:06, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
