Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Baahubali, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Because you've added the Bare URL. Raghusri 14:34, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]
Thanks for fighting against Vandalism as you did in the Baadshah (2013 film) article. Raghusri 17:17, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

please be careful at what you call "vandalism"

[edit]

WP:VANDALism at Wikipedia has a very limited meaning and is not in the material you removed here.

And quite clearly a work in progress is NOT a film. The coverage of what may or may not ever be an actual film is appropriately covered in the text of the article where the context of WIP is clear.

And your reinsertion of a complete awards section without providing actual sources to support the awards not acceptable. It is the burden of the person reinserting content to provide appropriate sources. But even with sources, it is not appropriate to duplicatively cover "awards" both in a stand alone section and as part of the filmography. Choose one or the other. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:43, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

you yourself identify the issue: "are films in the making". they are NOT films yet and it is crystalballing to present in the article as if they are. They are works in progress that are covered in the IMPORTANT part of the article, the text. Not the lazy, ignorant man's filmography. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom
why would we have duplicate content about something that hasnt even happened? -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:10, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
a film project that is still in process is not a film in the same manner that a meal where the rice is not cooked and the peas are still being shucked is not actually a "meal" and the same way that a car that is still on the production line waiting to get its wheels and be painted is not yet a "car" or a book that is being written and does not yet have a climax is or publisher is not yet a "book". They are works in progress: the rice might burn or the author die or the car be part of a recall and never roll off the line. As an encyclopedia it is our duty to represent things as they actually are not to promote them to things they might (or even probably) will be some day. We wait until they actually are and until that time present them as works in progress. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 00:19, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
if you consider it such a petty issue than why are you edit warring to reinsert incompleted items into the filmography list? and despite your claims that film will be completed is in fact complete WP:CRYSTALBALLing for Wikipedia to assert or imply that it actually will when it obviously hasnt. And yes, works in progress may have their own articles. As it says WP:NFF a work in progress may have enough coverage to be a notable work in progress , but having an article in no way makes it a film. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:00, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
a work in progress may be notable enough for its own article but that does not make it part of a FILMography. If we were listing a WIPography, then maybe once production had been initiated, but if you look and you dont have to look very carefully at all, you will see the article does not have a WIPography, it has a FILMography. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:20, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
yes that is my argument. a filmography is by definition a list of films. it is NOT a list of works in progress. you are saying that because an article for a work in progress exists that is valid rational for it to be included in a filmography. it is not. that is like saying that because there are articles for eggs, milk and flour that they should be included in a list of cakes. no, they should not. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:45, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
a list of "to be released films" is WP:CRYSTALBALLing in its worst form. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 23:10, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It was not only "ugly" of you to revert back, it was against policy for you to restore uncited claims such as the uncited awards. in addition 1) pointing to WP:OTHERCRAP is a poor defense and 3) your example page claiming that woks in progress (or not even yet in progress) should be called part of a FILMography. You have yet to provide any evidence that such works in progress belong in a filmography.
as in infoboxes, content should not be included that requires extensive text to place it in context, and is better covered for the readers by placing it in the body of the article.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:50, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
i have shown policies over and over WP:CRYSTAL et al, but you have yet to show one policy that backs your position "If there is not a specific prohibition against something it must be allowed." and stating flat out that you are willing to edit war until you are blocked will be read by some admins as proof enough to apply a preventative block. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 20:29, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Warring

[edit]

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Mike VTalk 22:59, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Puthiya geethai cd cover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Puthiya geethai cd cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:16, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Darshan (actor). Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Sitush (talk) 15:46, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been warned recently about edit warring and here you go again. Explanations have been given regarding why your contributions are not being accepted and, like it or not, those explanations are within the bounds of our policies. Please can you try to find some sources and then you can reinstate the various items. Since you are around the limit of reverts, it might be best not to actually reinstate for at least 24 hours, and preferably a bit longer, even if you do have sources. The three-revert rule is a bright-line and has very, very few exceptions. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 15:49, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Vidya Balan, featured article. Has loads of such information, but yeah, of course, here it's not allowed. I know, I should not be pointing at other articles, but hell, you can't give sources for everything, because sometimes there simply are no sources. I will leave it now, but believe me I will add it back, some time. Definitely! Wilhelm Chandrahaasan (talk) 16:00, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
as long as you have sources when you readd.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 16:09, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
sorry for doing this once again, but Vidya Balan#Filmography. Same. Unsourced. Burden or whatever. Wilhelm Chandrahaasan (talk) 16:12, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just because no one has cleaned it up or challenged it yet in that article, does not mean that WP:V doesnt apply or can be ignored where someone has brought it up. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 16:18, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) No worries. There are some things that you may not realise:
  • Featured article status is pretty much a snapshot. Things happen after FA status has been agreed and those contributions may in fact change the article in a way that is detrimental to that status. Indeed, we have a process for re-reviewing FAs and delisting them if necessary.
  • That another article doesn't follow policy is not a reason for every other article not to follow it. Policy has precedence over other stuff that exists.
  • We have something called summary style which means that if something is sourced in a linked article then just possibly there is no need to source it in the article that you are contributing to. However, I'd pretty strongly advise you not to rely on that and instead to verify the source in the linked article and then, if it is ok, copy it over to the one that you want to edit.
Hope this helps. - Sitush (talk) 16:24, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not cleaned up, that's how it became a featured article eh? Hahaha, oh dude! I know I shouldn't referring to other articles, I myself said that. But I still wanted to! :D And no, most of it is not sourced in the prose either. Anyways, you continue! Wilhelm Chandrahaasan (talk) 16:34, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
