List of best-selling music artists

[edit]

We avoid using sources which use the term "Albums" when referring to the maximum number of sold "Records" (albums, singles and videos). There are very few artists on the list 95% of record-sales rely on album sales only. The Queen, however, are not one of them based on their certified sales. And it's always a good idea to open up a discussion at the talk page when you disagree with the reversions made by one of the main editors of any list/article on Wikipedia. Hitting the "Undo/Revert" button is not the right approach, in fact, that can be viewed as edit warring.--Harout72 (talk) 16:50, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, the existing cite uses "albums". Spare me the passive-aggressive garbage. Wild Ones76 (talk) 00:54, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The other source that once supported the 300 million figure doesn't seem to open up fully at the moment; so, I'm not sure how you were able to see whether it claimed Albums or Records, but I remember seeing "Records". And the sources supporting the 150 million figure are no good either as one of them is a dead link, and the other seems to have disappeared. I'll leave your source in place just for now. Once we locate a reliable source that can support 300 million records, we should remove the source that you provided.--Harout72 (talk) 02:04, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
