Changes to ISAAC_(cipher)

[edit]

One of your edits to ISAAC (cipher) was very concerning as it leads to people completely misunderstanding the subject of the article (which, in the field of cryptography, is a very dangerous and a very real problem problem). See Talk:ISAAC_(cipher) If you are not qualified enough to understand the context, or the references you may link, please be honest with yourself about that and not make any edits in those fields.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time about not understanding this field fully (I have no doubt that you understand many things that I don't), but please, "stay in your lane" for the sake of everyone else that may be trying to learn via wikipedia. Statistics and cryptography is very sensitive. If you inadvertently mislead people on wikipedia, that's increasingly dangerous.

Again, I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but please do your best to keep wikipedia clear of such information. Millions if not billions of information seekers rely on it. 73.217.103.80 (talk) 00:30, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear anonymous,
you will never read this, but your revert was based on your own, unsourced, personal opinion.
On the other hand, my additions to the page were properly sourced knowledge matching the Wikipedia policies.
I'll review your comments of course and re-add my content once properly verified.
If you disagree, feel free to provide appropriate sources and/or credentials. Wikipédien-franco-australien (talk) 02:09, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Two accounts

[edit]

Hello, Wikipédien-franco-australien. Thank you for being open at your user page that you have another account. I have been looking at WP:Username policy, and I am unsure whether you are in compliance with the policy, or not. Your stated reason for having another account does not seem to be listed at § Legitimate uses. Some options open to you if you wish to stay above board are listed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry#Alternative account notification. Certainly listing your other account on your user page here via {{User alternative account}} would resolve the issue, but that would defeat your stated reason for having it, so that doesn't work, but perhaps one of the other options in that section would apply to you. Check the policy at Wikipedia:Username policy, and feel free to ask for details about your situation at Wikipedia talk:Username policy. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 03:19, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
