Speedy deletion nomination of Rocudo

[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Rocudo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Rocudo and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 09:43, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Rocudo

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Rocudo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removing Speedy at Rocudo

[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Rocudo. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 10:53, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ive tried to make this article more notable about the website Rocudo. My aim of this page is to educate on the technology Rocudo use and have linked the technical terms to their wikipedia articles. I have also tryed to outline that Rocudos aim is to ensure the prosperity of Dj's and their reaction to the every increasing dependancy for artists on digital music and the ever declining rate of physical CD sales. I hoped to also outline the benefits for individuals to invest in start up companies i.e tax reliefs.

History

Rocudo was founded by CEO Culann mac Cabe in 2007 and its remixing technology has advanced from a downloadable desktop application to a live feature on the site. [1] Rocudo aims to follow the trend of the digitalization of musical content and gives Dj's an online platform to promote and sell their music as well as other products. They offer registered artists a stats page whereby they can show who's doing what with their music and exact locations to where it's turning up online. The Rocudo website contains a remix and promotional widget which can both be shared to numerous social networking sites.

Investors

Rocudo is funded by its founders, private international individuals and Enterprise Ireland, an Irish State body for business support.

Tax Relief for Irish Tax Payers Rocudo is a BES-qualifying company, which means that an investor who pays Irish Tax can claim Tax Relief against the investment amount. [2]

Technology

The Rocudo platform is built on a range of technologies, including:

Machine Listening: Advanced Digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms are used to analyse music files to determine meta-data such as BPM and beat-marker.

Real time Generative Music: The availability of these markers in conjunction with the audio file allows users to easily create Musical loops and allows the Rocudo player to automatically beat-match loops to play in sync.

Portable Widget: While all Rocudo content and technologies reside “in the cloud”, Rocudo makes it available via a set of Flash Widget which allow users to create a personalized “mini-portal” to their content which may be posted to a social networking web page and which may be subsequently virally shared.
