Welcome!

[edit]
Hi, WikiXan, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopaedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.

Additional tips

[edit]

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.

Warning, 3RR

[edit]
Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in John Huston. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. 71.114.62.228 22:26, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, I had actually forgotten about the rules. I just saw some guy (User:Mactabbed) who was banned for many things was telling people to do his revision, so naturally I thought to revert them all and forgot about the rule. It appears you're one of them, no? WikiXan 22:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WikiXan, good move on the WP:RFPP of John Huston... your reversions don't fall under WP:3RR due to the "Enforcement by reverting edits" section of WP:BAN. Take it easy. (Netscott) 23:56, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you have been doing a bunch of editing to the Centreville HS page, specifically reverting edits by IP users. It seems to me that many of the edits reverted by you are to the trivia section, which is currently tagged unreferenced. Do you attend that school? If so, would you be able to locate any sort of reference for some of the trivia? Meanwhile, since the section is unreferenced, it is possible that some of the information being put in is true and just needs references. Right now I am going to put back in some of the possibly true stuff; could you help by looking for references? KeepOnTruckin 02:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do not attend Centreville unfortunately. I maintain every one of Fairfax County's high school and middle school articles and I revert vandalism as it is usually obvious or as I see fit in some cases (some alumni cases I can't tell if they're someone editting their own name in or not). If you have any disagreements with any of my edits on any article, feel free to revert it. - WikiXan 08:20, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then. Do you work for FCPS? (I do) Thanks for helping out.KeepOnTruckin 00:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, but I am a student in FCPS. -WikiXan 00:12, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note the newest edit to the page. Things like that, that keep going back in, might be true. Ill check it out. BTW, what school do you go to? KeepOnTruckin 00:14, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
TJHSST. We should probably just have 204.111.202.163 blocked. Something such as "Matt Rowland - He was simply a legend. Delete this again and the entire Centreville High School page gets deleted." is obviously inflated ego crap. -WikiXan 00:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WOW, TJ. I didn't get in to there. I wouldn't go about blocking him just yet, but I also left a message on his page. He/she is welcome to put it in if he/she can get a source or a reason for notability. KeepOnTruckin 00:41, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

sounds good I will remove it, do you have a link to that forum by any chance? thanks for the info! (:O) -Nima Baghaei (talk) 23:52, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Forum? UFO Sightings

[edit]

Hey did you have a URL to the forum board to that false UFO sighting? I cant find it, and unless I can find it I may just reinstate the data back in with a citation request. But i rather not, so any help on showing me the message board would be nice (:O) -Nima Baghaei (talk) 16:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Wikimachine 04:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
