I apologise. I'll tell you why it looked like vandalism. The content guideline on User pages says In general it is considered polite to avoid substantially editing another's user page without their permission. The person's userpage you edited had the text "This page left intentionally blank" which implies that permission to edit is not given. That, combined with the content of your message, made it look like vandalism. You really should respond to people on talk pages.
