Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for Image:DavidGrindrod.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:DavidGrindrod.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 15:26, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Editing my user page
[edit]Not that it's illegal or anything - but it's just very bad manners! I wouldn't have expected an upstanding member of the Wikipedia community like yourself to stoop to such a level. See you in a few days.Cwilso (talk) 08:51, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Cwilso is my username hence that is what is on my user page. It was the username I was given at secondary school and so I've continued to use it for various websites and even for my hotmail account. In hindsight it would have made sense to stick an extra n on the end for anything new I joined - but it's a bit late now! Obviously it's nowhere as cool as WikiWebbie... NowCommons: Image:CliveAndersonSelwynMayBall2008.JPG
[edit]Image:CliveAndersonSelwynMayBall2008.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Clive Anderson at Selwyn May Ball -21June2008.JPG. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Clive Anderson at Selwyn May Ball -21June2008.JPG]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 16:58, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Churchill College Junior Common Room
[edit]I have nominated Churchill College Junior Common Room, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Churchill College Junior Common Room (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — LinguistAtLarge • Talk 06:56, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi WikiWebbie - As I mentioned in the discussion we had the other day, I restored Churchill College Junior Common Room so you could add additional references showing notability. I hope you have had enough time to add the references you wanted to-- I assume so, since you haven't edited the article for about 2 days. In any case, the deletion discussion is now open and should run for approximately 7 days, giving you time to express your views on the subject. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. — LinguistAtLarge • Talk 07:03, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Human Nature (Michael Jackson song), you will be blocked from editing. Pyrrhus16 14:42, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- Adding a [citation needed] tag to an article is not vandalism. Please do not take it personally. On Wikipedia, facts should be referenced to make them verifiable.
Covering a sourced article in fact tags is disruptive. The lead is sourced in the prose below. Do not re-add the Jason Nevis song to the article unless you can find a reliable source which states that the song samples "Human Nature". What your doing is WP:SYNTH. Pyrrhus16 13:14, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- I've given you two sources and it's already mentioned in the article. It's not something new I've added. WikiWebbie (talk) 17:09, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's synthesis. Add that information again, without a reliable source stating categorically that the song samples "Human Nature", and I will call for administrator assistance. This is your last warning. Also, do not lie in edit summaries. Pyrrhus16 17:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
- Please do ask for adminstrator assistance. Your accusations of vandalism are uncalled for. I edited the article completely correctly and with correct references. You seem to think that this article is yours and refuse to acknowledge anybody else editing it. WikiWebbie (talk) 00:18, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- I was able to add that song sample per the third source you provided; a reliable one. Don't remove the references for the credits, please. They are needed. Pyrrhus16 16:41, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Don't argue here wiki, argue on the AFD page, usually even the nominator doesn't see this discussion, the only discussion that matters is on the AfD page. Ikip (talk) 00:13, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Invitation
[edit]I saw your valiant effort to save: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Cuppers and I see how much of your work has been threatened by deletion. I added a rescue tag to Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Cuppers. I hope one of the squadron members with more interest in the subject will come around and source it more.
But I am here on your page to invite you to our group:
Hello, WikiWebbie. You have been invited to join the Article Rescue Squadron, a collaborative effort to rescue articles from deletion if they can be improved through regular editing. For more information, please visit the project page, where you can >> join << and help rescue articles tagged for deletion and rescue. Ikip (talk) 00:13, 23 August 2009 (UTC) |
Welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron
[edit]You wrote: "I wish I'd known about this before!" me too. It is a great group of people. WELCOME.
Hi, WikiWebbie, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you. And once again - Welcome! Ikip (talk) 17:11, 24 August 2009 (UTC) |
Speedy deletion nomination of 144.82.242.57
[edit]Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ArcAngel (talk) 17:46, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- WikiWebbie, I've moved the page to Wikipedia:Abuse reports/144.82.242.57 where it ought to be located (looks like you were trying to fill out an abuse report for that IP). You'll probably need to fill in some of the information soon (such as "requester comments"), so it's there waiting for ya. Best, JamieS93 19:58, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Greetings!
[edit]Greetings! Thank you for filing an Abuse Report for abusive behavior originating from 144.82.242.57. Unfortunately, there was a problem with your filing and it has been rejected. Please see Wikipedia:Abuse response/144.82.242.57 for details on why the filing was rejected. You may also review filing criteria for abuse reports filings. 20:32, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Content
February 2010
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content (particularly if you change facts and figures), as you have to the article Churchill College, Cambridge, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 12:31, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 12:43, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:14, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File:Churchill JCR Letter from Home Secretary.jpg listed for discussion
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Churchill JCR Letter from Home Secretary.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Thank you. Kelly hi! 14:30, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
The file File:GraydenWebb-AugustMix.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
2022 UCI Track Champions League moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, 2022 UCI Track Champions League, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:2022 UCI Track Champions League
[edit]Hello, WikiWebbie. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2022 UCI Track Champions League".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
