Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
[edit]Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
Blocked as a sockpuppet
[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:
Hello, I believe this block is a misunderstanding. I am not affiliated with User Nic.cartagena12 and have no knowledge of this account. I understand Wikipedia's policies against sockpuppetry and would not knowingly violate them. My account is personal and used primarily for research and contributing to topics I’m interested in. One possible reason for this issue may be that I often access Wikipedia on my school’s Wi-Fi, which could share an IP address with other users, potentially causing confusion. If you could check the activity or IP logs, I believe you'll find my usage is unrelated to any abuse. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in resolving this. Decline reason:
I'm not buying it. I mean, come on. It's blatantly obvious. Yamla (talk) 21:59, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Hello, I don’t understand why this block is being upheld. You’ve said this account is linked to User Nic.cartagena12, but I am genuinely not affiliated with that user in any way. I don’t see how my activities correlate with theirs, especially since the articles I read and contribute to have no connection to the content they were involved with.
Could you please guide me through exactly what evidence led to this block? I’d like to understand the reasoning behind it more clearly. I am confident that I’m not violating any policies, and I don’t believe there’s a legitimate correlation between my contributions and any abuse.
Thank you for your time in reviewing this, and I’d appreciate a clear explanation instead of "It's blatantly obvious." WikiExplorerNZ1 (talk) 22:03, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You're editing the exact same articles. This isn't a close call. Perhaps it is meat puppetry(different people doing the same thing) and not sock puppetry(you yourself operating more than one account). To claim that you have "no connection to the content they were involved with" is at best disingenuous. 331dot (talk) 09:40, 8 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]I got your email. The biggest question in my mind is how did it come that User:WikiNicExplorer was a redirect to your sandbox? RoySmith (talk) 14:47, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. I think part of the confusion might be due to my username change—I recently switched from “Publictransportontop” to “WikiExplorerNZ1.” I can see how my username could seem similar to WikiNicExplorer’s, but that similarity is purely coincidental.
- As for the redirect to my sandbox, I don’t actually know how that came to be. I haven’t intentionally set up any redirects to other users, nor do I recall interacting with WikiNicExplorer in any way. I’d be happy to look into it further if there’s any way I can help clarify this. WikiExplorerNZ1 (talk) 18:38, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- I've come to the conclusion that the connection between you and WikiNicExplorer is likely to be incorrect. I will be unblocking you shortly. My apologies for the inconvenience. RoySmith (talk) 19:19, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
Arkansas Highway 322 moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Arkansas Highway 322. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because the only provided source doesn't verify any of the content. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Imzadi 1979 → 22:37, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
