Welcome!
[edit]
I saw your comment on the removal of the PROD from Josh Hyde (musician). Rather than post to the talk page I decided to move it to an AfD to get more eyes on the article. Don't panic, an AfD gives editors at least 7 days to review and improve the article content. I assume in that time the quality of references will improve and the article will easily survive the process. Thanks... reddogsix (talk) 20:22, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
April 2017[edit]
@Bilby: Hello sir! I am contacting you about a certain block imposed on me. Why is it that because of mistakes I made in the past, I am banned from rectifying my behavior and taking necessary steps to improve my edits in the future? I don't understand if it's fair to prevent me from editing Wikipedia for the rest of my life. It really weighed heavily on me, and I never meant to "block evade" or cause any policy breaches. All I want to do is edit Wikipedia. I got off to a rough start, and I acknowledged my mistakes and apologized, but I believe nothing I did deserves a lifetime ban. It's like giving someone a life sentence in prison for robbing a shop. I am not contacting you to prove I am not in the wrong, I understand what I did was not right. But is there any way at all that I can have a new start. I enjoy working on Wikipedia and I really want to be more involved, and I don't want to be prevented from contributing for the next 60-70 years. I will take the steps necessary to reintegrate without causing problems. If you look at previous edits, I dealed with a AfD admirably, without causing any problems. Thank you ahead of time, and any support you can give me is welcomed. WikiBit (talk) 03:32, 30 April 2017 (UTC) Wikipedia policy says: "An indefinite block is a block that does not have a definite (or fixed) duration. Indefinite blocks are usually applied when there is significant disruption or threats of disruption, or major breaches of policy. In such cases an open-ended block may be appropriate to prevent further problems until the matter can be resolved by discussion. As with all blocks, it is not a punishment. It is designed to prevent further disruption, and the desired outcome is a commitment to observe Wikipedia's policies and to stop problematic conduct in future." @Bilby: Did I really do anything that bad? I'm new, I made mistakes and apologized. Why permanent? Thanks for your help. WikiBit (talk) 03:36, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
@Bilby: I wasn't paid to do this, actually. I did it free, but I get what you're getting at. Even contracted work needs to be cited. 173.95.181.234 (talk) 00:15, 2 May 2017 (UTC) (jkmarold55 not logged in) |
