{{helpme}} How does a user become an administrator? --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 20:27, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

help needed

[edit]

Sorry to bother you again, but is there a way to see a list of articles that need help being worked? --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 20:49, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The community portal is a good place to start; it has a large section titled 'Help out'. --  Chzz  ►  22:18, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

I have looked all over to find a list of articles with notability issues. Can anyone help me out and give me a link to it? Thanks. --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 18:58, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See Category:Articles with topics of unclear notability. Killiondude (talk) 19:25, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

How did you put all your likes and dislikes on your user page? Can you give me the templates? --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 22:27, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The list of pages which house all the userbox templates are found at WP:USERBOX#Gallery. Killiondude (talk) 22:33, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the World War II article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Consequently, I have archived the nomination. I hope you will participate in efforts on the article talk page to improve it. Maralia (talk) 02:09, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox

[edit]

{{helpme}}

Take a look at my userpage. I tried to create a userbox and that was the result. It is the U2 one.

{{helpme}} isn't for asking questions about userpages. Please refer to Help:Userbox for more information. //roux   20:46, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I admit that I was abusing multiple accounts. I really want to contribute to Wikipedia now. Please give me one more chance. If I screw up, you can block me indefinitely. You can block me for 2 or three weeks first. I really am sorry and I am not trying to take advantage of this opportunity. I really want to be able to participate again. Please consider this.

Decline reason:

You actually weren't blocked directly, but now you are. Also, saying we can block you again if you mess up again isn't how it works. We want your assurance that this sort of disruption will not occur again. Hersfold (t/a/c) 21:21, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Will someone at least unblock my userpage? I can't even edit my own profile. You have my assurance that nothing like this will ever happen again. (Although I don't see how that is possible, since I am blocked.)

Decline reason:

No. Wikipedia is not free webhosting. OhNoitsJamie Talk 23:56, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am really sorry for all the stuff I did on Wikipedia. I just got bored and frustrated because I didn't really know how to do anything on WIkipedia. This sounds like like some cunning excuse to get unblocked, but it is not. I can only offer my word and say this will never happen again. PLEASE!!!! Can I contribute? If someone will show me how really use wikipedia I can help out. I promise nothing like this will ever happen again. It's really boring on this computer. I swear I will be of no more trouble. Just unblock me for a week or something and then see what I have done. I can only plead.

Decline reason:

Given that a reasonable period of time has passed and you have offered no response to the question below, I am assuming that you no longer desire unblocking for this account. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 19:10, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Sorry, I was on vacation, and I didn't bring my computer with me, so I couldn't get to my account. I really want to help out with the typo team, but I don't really have a way to find typos on articles. I also think that there should be a "program" for reformed vandals. I realize that there are a significant amount of vandals that do this kind of begging to be unblocked and then just go back to vandalizing pages. This is hard to consider when determining whether to unblock an account or not. I don't know why I decided to vandalize talk pages. I was bored at that point. I also did some work with the Notability drive, although I only helped out on one page before I got blocked. I really was helping before I was blocked. I swear that this will NEVER happen again. --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 12:59, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This request for unblocking has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • Click edit this page on that article and scroll down past the message informing you of your block.
  • Copy the source of that article and paste it to the bottom of your talk page under a new top-level heading (like this: = [[Article title]] =) and save the page before you improve it.
  • Propose some significant and well researched improvements to your article by editing your personal copy of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "{{helpme|your question here}}" to your talk page. Thank you.  Sandstein  15:22, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Check the link above that I was given that directs me to pages that need work on. Will someone show me how to actually find the list of the articles, because the link doesn't really get me there. Thanks. --WhiteHandofSauramon (talk) 20:30, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, if your request that you be unblocked simply because a number of other people no longer edit Virginia-related articles or are you requesting your name be removed from the inactive list? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 02:09, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I never even vandalized the Wikipedia. I didn't know that you couldn't have two usernames. I got bored with my old one, so I just created a new one. Then I vandalized my own userpage under my other username. I don't see how I can be indefinitely blocked for that. It won't happen again.

Decline reason:

Sandstein, above, gave specific instructions for what to do to appeal your block. It's a templated message: he wasn't accusing you of vandalism, but your actions have been disruptive. The point is, for the third time, we wish to see direct evidence that you can be a valuable contributor before you can be unblocked. Follow the instructions at template:2nd chance carefully, and do not request unblocking again until you are ready for your proposed changes to be reviewed.
