Sherlock

[edit]

I'd like to know why Sherlock (a show made, filmed, produced, edited, among other things) is considered in any way to be American.

Thank you Whatcha2016 (talk) 11:43, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest raising this at Talk:Sherlock (TV series). --John (talk) 11:45, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how to do so because the system here is really difficult to use. But this show is made and produced in Britain. Whatcha2016 (talk) 11:51, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's easy. Here, I'll start it for you. --John (talk) 11:52, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That really isn't easy and I still don't understand it. I just want to get this changed because it is incorrect and made entirely in the UK by the BBC. Whatcha2016 (talk) 12:01, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've done it for you! See Talk:Sherlock (TV series)#Nationality. --John (talk) 12:07, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Sherlock (TV series) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Sherlock (TV series) appears to be a co-production

[edit]

Judging from discussions on various talk pages, this appears to be described by the makers as a co-production between BBC and PBS. For instance, look at this link to pbs.org. It says "“Sherlock” is produced by Hartswood Films for BBC One and co-produced by MASTERPIECE". If you disagree with this judgment, you should get agreement of other editors before trying to change it again. Otherwise a block for edit warring is possible.
