Got another extraneous category...
[edit]Archive 8 of Talk:Freemasonry is also listed in Category:Freemasonry. Since I'm not sure quite how you fixed the other one I posted about, you want ot get this one, too? MSJapan 08:08, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Never mind, I see exactly what happened, because I did it here just now typing this out. MSJapan 08:09, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Didn't get it. Could you take a look after all? MSJapan 08:15, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
Information on Rifles?
[edit]Hi, I'm Guapovia. I see that you contributed to the article on the M1819 Hall rifle. I'm doing research for a novel, and I was wondering if you knew of any Wiki users or online resources that could tell me about breechloading rifles in the period 1850-1860. Specifically, the story is about a cowboy who comes back east just before the Civil War - I'm trying to see how practical it would be for him to own a breechloading rifle. Can you help me in this matter? With gratitude, Guapovia 14:06, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose a more logical question is ammunition availability - any manner of backstory could be invented as to how someone got a rifle - would any manner of paper cartrige work in a Kammerlader or Hall? Guapovia 16:41, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Syndicating talk....
[edit]When you send messages to the myself and the other editors in bulk, are you doing it in one step, or literally cutting and pasting on each talk page? If you can do it in one shot, I'd like to know how, because it's faster. MSJapan 03:12, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Plan_Draug_class_destroyer.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Plan_Draug_class_destroyer.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 00:50, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Re: Image:Plan_Draug_class_destroyer.jpg
[edit]I've replaced the image in question with a self made (and released to PD) image instead. Could you give me any pointers to how to remove the image of uncertain copyright status? I'm a bit of a n00b as far as images go here on Wikipedia... WegianWarrior 09:57, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Probably the best way is to tag it with {{db-unksource}}. --Carnildo 20:23, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
RNoN ship articles
[edit]Hei!
I've seen some of your work on Norwegian Navy ships, good work! I thought I'd drop by and give you some tips:
When writing a ship's name, the prefix (HNoMS, KNM etc.) should not be in italics, but the name should (the same goes for ship classes). Examples: HNoMS Thrudvang, Skorpionen class monitor. Also, don't use that big, non-transparent PNG version of the state flag, instead, use this SVG version in 45px size (which seems to be the norm), and add in the caption that it is both the state and navy flag. Example: [[Image:Flag of Norway, state.svg|45px|Norwegian State and Navy Flag]]. Happy editing! kallemax 20:51, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Rathbone
[edit]Just saw your dialogue with Rathbone this morning. Blue Square reverted several days worth of minor corrections which may explain why Rathbones edits still had them present. I've rather lost track of where the baseline is following all of that intrusive editing by Rathbone. Seems like User:ALR forgot to sign that. No worries =)
- ) did, and not the only forgotten sig today. Have a good evening.ALR 13:56, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Note: It has been expressed that your vote may well not be counted there, as the vote is for the community's consensus, & as a non-registered wiktionary user, you would not be a part of that community... Just a brotherly heads-up... Grye 18:34, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Looking to use one of your pictures to run in a magazine...
[edit]Good afternoon. My name is Kevin Morrow, and I am the photo editor at Military History Magazine in the US. We will be running an article in our June issue on two battles between the Moros of Jolo Island in the Philippines and the American army in 1906 and 1913. I saw the closeup picture you took of the Krag-Joergensen rifle, and I was wondering if you had an ultra-hi-resolution electronic copy of the image you'd be willing to lend us to run with this article. You'd be credited if we did use it.
If you could drop me a line at kevin.morrow@primedia.com, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Regards,
Kevin Morrow
Oh, dear.....
[edit]Wegian, I think you may have perhaps made a very logical statement wrt to your rv on Freemasonry. However, the consensus seems to be that such behavior is not allowed. :)
Therefore, having violated your Wikipedian's Oath, you now must suffer the Modern Penalties (just as soon as somebody figures out what they are and if they're valid in your area, and if we have an independent source to verify their existence in the first place). So, in short, probably nothing at all is going to happen. MSJapan 04:39, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways, from comparing articles that need work to other articles you've edited, to choosing articles randomly (ensuring that all articles with cleanup tags get a chance to be cleaned up). It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 13:55, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
3RR block on Anti-Masonry
[edit]- You have been blocked from editing for 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy violating WP:3RR on Anti-Masonry. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to do so after the block expires. Gator (talk) 14:41, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hello new club member. But now back to the good work with you :) Imacomp 16:41, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
I have a job for you, if you would like to do it....
[edit]I found that there is now a page on WP called Long term abuse, and I think our friend LB most certainly belongs there. Could you start an entry for him? I think it will make future blockings much easier if we can point to a page such as LTV that will centralize all the info. It beats having to chase down an admin and explain everything again if they're not aware of the issue. MSJapan 05:08, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Help with Garand article
[edit]I was taking a look at your talk page and noticed you've brought a lot of firearm articles up to featured status, and I was wondering if you had the time to do the same with the M1 Garand article we have here. Unfortunately, most of the work the article needs concerns copyediting and incorporating references, but if you had some time we'd appreciate the help. --Banana! 01:05, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- I did a fair bit of work save the reference incorporation (I don't know what's what), but I figured I'd lend a hand to do something different for a change. MSJapan 02:58, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
