Speedy deletion nomination of Paul Moran ( British Musician )
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Paul Moran ( British Musician ) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Jennica✿ / talk 06:53, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Webjectives. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Paul Moran ( British Musician ), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Karst (talk) 08:35, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

[edit]There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Orange Mike | Talk 09:00, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
My friend is a musician - and doesn't have anything to do with websites. I am doing this as a favour - not for reward as I build websites. Paul is a good friend and will verify this is an unpaid job for a friend. ***redacted***
Decline reason:
the comments made below this stand. But your chosen username is not allowed here, as names of companies, organisations, etc. are not acceptable as usernames in Wikipedia. Please apply for unblock for username change, using {{unblock-un}}. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 10:56, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Paul Moran
[edit]I think we can all appreciate what you are doing here; a favour for a friend. And that is, I'm afraid, exactly where the problems arise. If I create a page for a friend then that constitutes a conflict of interest (as described above). Other editors would immediately question my motives and reject my contributions. Now, assuming good faith here, let's say you are doing this as a freebie, the question arises why did you make an account under you professional services name. I also noticed that you have the site you did for Mr. Moran listed in your portfolio. You were right to go through the Article for Creation process but a number of issues have been highlighted there too. I would suggest requesting a name change, one not connected with your business. Refrain from creating/editing articles associated with your company and explore and edit existing Wikipedia pages to gain some experience with the processes that we have here. I appreciate that it can be frustrating, but it really is the best way to get an understanding of it, in my own experience. Good luck! Karst (talk) 16:02, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. Really very helpful and much appreciated
Will set myself up a personal account
