Vandalism on my user page

Haha - no hard feelings. --Anthony5429 06:21, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Re:

It's going just fine. Weather's a bit nicer here in Georgia. I'm settling into the monotony of school in the winter months. This is the roughest time with assignments and stuff. I've kinda slacked off on my editing here and I mostly stay on the talk pages. I've gotten tired of the headaches of 2005AHS. Too much irritation. I took a break over the summer. I came back bent on being much more low key and avoiding all the chaos that I had encountered before. But I'm still here. -- §HurricaneERIC§ archive 23:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Hurricanes

I'm guessing you don't get hurricanes in North Dakota very often. But Miami doesn't get that many Arctic troughs, either. Wahkeenah 23:45, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

The Vandal

Well, I'm alerting our CVU member, R9tgokunks‎‎ to the situation. I think in general a blanket block is bad policy, but we have to ask ourselves what kind of person uses the state network to vandalism Wikipedia at 6:30pm ... No word back from the state network guys, incidentally. --AlexWCovington (talk) 02:38, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Regisphilbin2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Regisphilbin2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 19:50, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Gerald Ford

Gerry Ford was a good man. He brought honor back to the White House after the Nixon disaster. It's hard for a young'un like yourself to know what it was really like in 1973-74 when all that was going on. It's interesting to observe how things go with ex-Presidents. Ford and Carter, who ran against each other in 1980 in a relatively low-key campaign (compared with 2004, for example) ended up as good friends. Likewise with Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton. Only the guys who sit in that Oval Office chair really know what it's like. Each President has gone to previous Presidents for advice and counsel. I recall JFK having meetings with Ike at Camp David during the Cold War crises. It's a very small fraternity, and unfortunately for US it's getting smaller all the time. Wahkeenah 15:21, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I reckon I should have been watching Fox tonight, to see what the neo-cons had to say about today's revelation - Ford's criticism of the Bush team's decision to invade Iraq - a day after they praised him to the skies. However, there's a distinction to be made. Ford doesn't question Bush's motives, as many leftists do, but "merely" his judgment. It's perhaps easy for Ford to say these things, since he's not the one who had to make the decision. But he's echoing the sentiments of paleo-con Pat Buchanan, who has likewise argued (as far back as Gulf War I in 1990-1991) that we've thrown ourselves from the frying pan into the fire in the Middle East. I just self-nominated myself for administrator's status on Wikipedia. As an active member of WikiProject North Dakota, I feel that having admin status would allow me the ability to be more useful to the project and to curtail vandalism and other problems. An admin is able to protect pages that are being bombarded with vandalism and to more quickly revert pages that have been vandalized. I've always hoped that we could get an admin to join the WikiProject so we would have someone to turn to in times of need. Since we still don't have an active admin within the project's membership, I decided to nominate myself. I really hope you will visit my request for adminship and support me. Thanks! --MatthewUND(talk) 10:47, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Hussein Execution Response

I was watching CNN and the moment Adnerson Cooper announced his death, I posted it on Wikipedia. A review of the Saddam Hussein history page shows I was the first one to edit his death into the article. No guns were jumped. Zelmerszoetrop 03:15, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:Wallofvoodoo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Wallofvoodoo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Eddiemoneyessentialeddiemoney.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Eddiemoneyessentialeddiemoney.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 05:05, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Living supercentenarians

Hi Weatherman90, in case you did not know, your living supercentenarians category was nominated for deletion due to a stupid technicality in Wikipedia's rules, which I opposed. It looks as though it will be deleted, but I have pasted several similar categories onto my user page, including Survivors of the 19th Century. Perhaps the only way to save living supercentenarians would be to paste the names onto your user page? Best wishes. Dovea 20:44, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Hatchetprisoners.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hatchetprisoners.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then you need to specify who owns the copyright, please. If you got it from a website, then a link to the website where it was taken from with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:39, 13 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NMajdantalk 19:39, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

User:Weatherman90/deathpool nominated for deletion

Hi Weatherman90, I've nominated a user page you created for deletion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Weatherman90/deathpool. Robotman1974 07:39, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

It seems to me that you and your friends could easily play this game somewhere else and not involve wikipedia in it. Would you consider just blanking the page right away? Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 08:50, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I took the liberty of deleting old news as well, for the same reason. If you need a copy of either page to continue your game off Wikipedia then let me know and I'll provide you with one. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 21:11, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I emailed you a copy of the wikicode - is that ok or do you want the html? Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 05:51, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Re:Deletion of user page

I don't think so, but you should ask the admin who closed the deletion discussion. Robotman1974 16:40, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
