removing maintenance tags

[edit]

If you remove a maintainance tag, as you did here [1] without addressing the issue, you may see the article nominated for deletion. The sourcing is very weak at the moment, and really needs improvement. I think better sources exist. Please make an effort. Vexations (talk) 15:57, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Vexations, I believed I had sourced the page properly, but I am new and still have some work to do. I just added some more sources. Could you review it and let me know if there are more improvements I could make? WayNy (talk) 17:08, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi WayNy, OK, what you have so far is http://www.beililiu.com/BIO that's a primary source. https://www.saatchiart.com/beililiu that's also a primary source. https://stamps.umich.edu/news/beili_liu_wins_3rd_place_in_artprize that's her employer, so not independent, but it links to https://www.mlive.com/artprize/2010/10/couples_engagement_at_artprize_is_a_work_of_art.html which IS independent. As art criticism, it's almost useless, unfortunately. https://art.utexas.edu/people/beili-liu that's another employer so not independent https://avaaonline.org/austin-visual-arts-awards is fine, and there's a link to https://www.austinchronicle.com/arts/2009-12-18/930056/ which makes a very brief mention (we really need more than that). The Austin Visual Arts Awards are not particularly notable though, and it's not clear to me that it carries a monetary reward, which would help support a claim of significance. https://www.artprize.org/history/detail/history-2010 the art prize is notable https://stamps.umich.edu/news/beili_liu_wins_3rd_place_in_artprize that's a connected source because she taught there http://www.bienale.lt/2011/?p=643&lang=en is worth noting, but it would be nice if a 3rd party wrote about it. https://www.austinchronicle.com/arts/2013-05-24/austin-critics-table-awards-2013/ is independent an reliable, but makes only a very brief mention, it's not significant coverage https://www.chinesenewart.com/chinese-artists15/beililiu.htm I don't know Danièle Sicard, but it reads like a bio of an artist for a gallery, not a critical engagement with the work https://joanmitchellfoundation.org/center/artist-in-residence/2019-sessions/fall-2019/beili-liu1 not exactly a primary source, they are independent, but not exactly a 3rd party either. I'd try to look for exhibition reviews. I'd start here:http://beililiu.com/PRESS-1 good luck, Vexations (talk) 17:53, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
