An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello WayKurat! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 659 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Is Philippines uses PAL television format?

[edit]

Do you think the Philippines uses System M format using PAL color encoding? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JyrusTheGreat (talkcontribs) 23:04, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. The Philippines uses NTSC from the beginning. Please read this for more information. -WayKurat (talk) 23:10, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why Philippines adopted NTSC television system?

[edit]

The Philippines was supposed to adopt PAL or SECAM. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JyrusTheGreat (talkcontribs) 00:07, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you get this information? I am living here in the Philippines and the TV standard HAS NOT changed since TV first aired here. You are obviously just disrupting Wikipedia. -WayKurat (talk) 00:55, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You guys should really block this guy indefinitely. He has been doing this over and aover again for a year. He will never get the message. He has been block for like the millionth time but he still keeps doing it. By the way, here's his recent vandalism on the Tanging Yaman page. And not just that, all his previous edits are all vandalisms. Please block him.--CocaCirca2009 (talk) 23:39, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PAL-M

[edit]

PAL-M is the same as NTSC. But using PAL color. PAL-M tv sets receive NTSC broadcasts. But in monochrome.--JyrusTheGreat (talk) 01:42, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You still have not answered my question and now you are saying that our country uses a monochrome version of NTSC dubbed as PAL-M. Why are you still insisting that the Philippines have changed TV standard from NTSC to PAL, which in fact did not really happened? NTSC became the TV standard here in the Philippines since most of the TV stations here (specificially ABS-CBN and GMA Network) were founded by Americans since we are a former US colony. If you are really doing your research, NTSC is different from PAL and both standards are not compatible from each other. -WayKurat (talk) 04:04, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PAL-M is used in Brazil.--JyrusTheGreat (talk) 04:20, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So what if Brazil uses PAL-M? They are two different countries with different histories. You're edits still does not makes sense. -WayKurat (talk) 04:27, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing TV to Philippines

[edit]

Can I bring TV from US to the Philippines? Does it get color or not?--JyrusTheGreat (talk) 03:16, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

YES! Actually, some of the imported televisions here came from either Japan (a country that has a NTSC standard) or US. And YES, you can receive color broadcasts using TVs from those countries if you use it here. -WayKurat (talk)

Bringing TV from Japan will skip channels. Japan uses the NTSC variant called NTSC-J.--JyrusTheGreat (talk) 21:50, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's not the point. What I am saying is that if you bring any TV here that is NTSC compatible, then you use it here, it will work with no flaws since we are using NTSC standard for TV broadcasts. If you bring a TV from US then use it here, it will still work. -WayKurat (talk) 22:38, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What about Brazil? Is is NTSC? Can it Bring TV from Brazil to Philippines? Does it get color?--JyrusTheGreat (talk) 23:40, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brazil has a different TV standard (PAL), so any TV that came from that country will not work here. Why are you associating the Philippines to Brazil's TV standards? They are both different countries with their own laws and standards? -WayKurat (talk) 05:06, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An AIV note

[edit]

I feel pity to your AIV reports because I (and probably other admins) do not understand why the reported edits are vandalism. If you wish us to be of more help, you could invest more time and provide direct links proving that the inserted information was blatantly wrong. Materialscientist (talk) 05:13, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This anon user has the same editing pattern to what User:Pare Mo and I have reported in Steward requests/Checkuser in MetaWiki. I also indicated on that report what articles this anon user commonly edits. I apologize if I have written a poorly written report in AIV. -WayKurat (talk) 06:11, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Experience tells that if you provided diffs to a vandal edit with a link to true information, then admins could act and then pursue repeating edits like that. Materialscientist (talk) 06:17, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You should mention if the vandal is an obvious sock of a blocked or banned user and if the vandalism is long-term abuse. If you know who the puppetmaster is (like Lpkids2006), throw that in as well. Also, vandal socks shouldn't need to be warned before blocking, so you can report them on sight. Would you be interested in the rollback tool, by the way? Prolog (talk) 18:59, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I would like to use it but I am not familiar in using such tool. I am getting tired of reverting edits from different socks (and sockpuppeteers) for most of my stay here in Wikipedia and this tool can be useful. -WayKurat (talk) 14:54, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Remember to use it only for clearly unconstructive edits such as vandalism. Prolog (talk) 20:43, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Ifm ph.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ifm ph.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:10, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, can you please explain why you keep reverting User:JEREMIAHpope's apparently constructive logo changes on Conan O'Brien Show and Tonight Show with Jay Leno and warning the user for vandalism? Thanks!   Thorncrag  04:37, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I just reverted the guy's edits ONCE. JEREMIAHpope claims copyright on both logos which apparently is not true. -WayKurat (talk) 04:57, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, I have looked into it further and left a message on the user's talk page. Cheers! :-)   Thorncrag  05:06, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: User:DjJosh's uploaded files

[edit]

You can file deletion discussions for them; just go to WP:FFD and follow the instructions. I have no opinion about them per se, and I can promise you that if I show up at deletion discussions (which I probably won't), I won't advocate keeping simply because of who uploaded them; the only reason I won't delete them is that they don't qualify for G5 speedy because the sockmaster wasn't blocked or banned when they were created. Please stop reverting properly fixed pages. The pages clearly violates WP:FANCRUFT, WP:TRIVIA, and WP:REF. The pages doesn't provide enough information to prove that they are notable enough to have their own pages. I have taken this to the administrators concern here. Please provide your reason why you have reverted the edits. Continuously reverting the edits may cause you to be blocked for a certain period of time. Meralco Bolts

[edit]

Hello!

Thank you for the changes that you have contributed to Meralco Bolts entry.

We are from the External Communications Team of Meralco and we would like to ask you to refrain from using the Meralco Bolts logo you use for this is not the official logo of the team.

The official logo does not have the "Meralco" logo. If the Meralco logo is present, the Caritas Manila logo must also be there. And lastly, the Meralco Bolts colors are Orange, White and Blue. The logo you that you uploaded is Black.

We greatly appreciate your initiative for the team but we have to do this for authenticity.

Thank you very much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beatreporter (talkcontribs) 07:58, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, there was some speculation as to how did they manage to provide input during the show. It was widely believed that the consoles were modified for voice activation, although the technology of the time would mean that the only other option would be a guy holding an Intellivision controller on the other end, doing what the contestant says, which can cause some input lag especially on a fast-paced action game. As for the article, I don't think that making a seperate page about it, as there's already an article about it. Blake Gripling (talk) 02:02, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article All Star K! has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unsourced since 2007, no sources provide or found, fails WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File permission problem with File:Dzbb studio01.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Dzbb studio01.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 01:50, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article that you have posted has little notability per Wikipedia standards. Sure, it is a program block from a nationwide network (ABS-CBN) but it does not automatically qualify for it to have a separate article, since the List of programs broadcast by ABS-CBN can accommodate the entries for such block.
Also next time, use English in posting comments here since this is an English Wikipedia. -WayKurat (talk) 11:32, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Templates About Bandila and Umagang Kay Ganda

[edit]

Dear Mr. WayKurat due to recent article changes in our company's programs, we researchers, and other workers at ABS-CBN news and current affairs decided to create an account in wikipedia to justify articles concerning about our programs specially Bandila and Umagang Kay Ganda. Mr. Waykurat we support the creation of the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs, Bandila and Umagang Kay Ganda templates so please do not delete such templates because it is a big help for our company in the aspect of how our valued "Kapamilya viewers' will know about our programs history. While we would still discuss to the other groups/departments if we will remove the other templates concerning our company. -- ABSCBNnewsgroup (talk) 19:17, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we know that you wanted to edit the said articles just to clarify things, but accounts representing a company or an organisation, whether they really do represent or otherwise, are not allowed here, as it constitutes conflict of interest. In other words, your account is likely to be blocked for violating the username guidelines. Blake Gripling (talk) 12:20, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Motion for reconsideration for Bandila and Umagang Kay Ganda Templates

[edit]
  • Dear Mr/Ms WayKurat,

May I justify to you why I created a template for Bandila (TV program) and Umagang Kay Ganda. The main reason why I created such template is because I have received numerous requests to put up a template for the page similar to the TV Patrol page which shows the anchors current or former of the said program. This would also give an easier access to those people who are looking for the anchors of the said show or vice versa rather than browsing the whole body of the page.

P.S. Pls do not remove the said article immediately. If you want more justification about the matter, I am willing to give more justification so that the template will not be deleted and can be reconsidered.

Your vandalism report for 180.194.53.210

[edit]

Hi. I was looking at reports at Administrator intervention against vandalism ("WP:AIV") and saw yours for this IP. It's languished for a while probably because other admins are having the same problem with it that I am -- are these IP's edits really vandalism? It's something admins are supposed to independently check for themselves before blocking someone based on a report. I don't understand Philippine TV. These look like "reasonable", good-faith edits to someone ignorant of the subject. Is there a way I can verify that this IP is deliberately adding misinformation to Wikipedia?

I'm sorry to be unhelpful so far but I want to be careful about how I go about blocking accounts.

If I'm no longer online when you get this, I suggest you add a link from your WP:AIV report to your comments here for other admins to see. Thanks for your patience and help.
--A. B. (talkcontribs) 03:40, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've seen you a few times at RFPP and AIV looking for help with these apparent Phillipine TV vandals. As A. B. says, above, it's hard for independent admins to tell what's actually going on because the edits look to be valid from our point of view. I would suggest creating a page briefly describing the disruptive editing that you can attach to RFPP requests and AIV reports for admins' benefit. For example, one user created this subpage to describe the behavior of a profilic sockpuppeteer. Regards, Dabomb87 (talk) 04:58, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to compile the edit patterns then create a subpage for this. To tell you the truth, I am really tired and fed up in monitoring this anon, it seems that everytime his IP address is blocked, the next day he uses a new IP address, then continues his tirade of vandalism. Thanks again. -WayKurat (talk) 05:02, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have blocked this vandal's most common IP ranges for the next 1-2 weeks. I'll try to keep an eye on this and re-rangeblock if necessary. Prolog (talk) 06:07, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

May I upload the comparison between banknotes?

[edit]

Hi! May I upload the comparison on the outlook between 2 banknotes? I hope you'll answer it.--PhilMoney Collector (talk) 12:01, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you mean by "outlook" but IMO, it is better if you just describe it in paragraph form on what you are comparing. If an image is really needed to describe your point, make sure that it is within the bounds of fair use rules since all our bills are covered by that copyright. -WayKurat (talk) 12:08, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry ha, I mean the appearance of 2 notes. Sorry I mistaken. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PhilMoney Collector (talkcontribs) 12:13, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Almost all of the banknotes of every series are already uploaded here. Try to use them instead to avoid being detected as a duplicate. -WayKurat (talk) 12:29, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide a source for that? According to BSP, the 1 sentimo coin is IN CIRCULATION. Just because the denomination is not often used doesn't mean it is pulled out of circulation. Why do you have to delete the info on Our Lady of Assumption College

[edit]

I was just wondering why do you have to change the information on the Our Lady of Assumption College page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.108.196.243 (talk) 15:14, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article is an ugly mess, and was created by a person of dubious lineage, but with a few clicks, I found two recent news articles from reputable and major Philippines newspapers. So I removed your prod, as this appears to meet both WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. Take it to WP:AFD if you disagree or wish to appeal. Bearian (talk) 21:24, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am disagreeing with your removal of the WP:PROD template. I have found out that the anon that created this article copy-pasted paragraphs from several sources (Viva.com.ph, several blogs, etc.) and consolidated it to make it look like an original article, that's why it looks like a "press release". I am renominating this article via CSD. -WayKurat (talk) 17:31, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I Am Posting SOURCED CONTENT

[edit]

I am posting sourced content okay, if you think I am just violating Wikipedia rules and destroying articles, think again. Go to http://www.pep.ph/newsmain right now and scroll down, you will see the part where it says Direk Louie Ignacio will direct a new GMA-7 Morning Talk Show "Starbucks". This is WHAT IT EXACLTLY SAYS and I Quote

"scoopbox: Tinanggihan ni Louie Ignacio na idirek ang isang out-of-town episode ng "Party Pilipinas." Idinahilan niya ang kanyang ongoing painting exhibit at pre-production ng bago niyang morning show sa GMA-7 na "Starbucks." Kinukuha si Bert de Leon bilang kapalit niya, pero hindi pa ito sumasagot. about 1 day ago"....

Now if that is not sourced content, I don't know what would be to your standards. Think about reconsidering what your thinking about doing to my profile okay. Good Day. --SummerLoveRit2010 (talk) 22:48, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are only posting "GMA Plug Aired March 14, 2011 Onwards" as a source, which is questionable to other persons who does not have GMA in their TV, and you are using PEP.ph's main page as the source. Please provide a direct link to your source, not PEP's main page. The main page will constantly change and that source may be removed anytime there and will be difficult to recheck. -WayKurat (talk) 22:57, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sir, since im new here im still learning a lot on how to have a better research articles about PBA history on wiki, thanks a lot for the contributions, I also would like to point out some errors regarding team names/monickers like the Gonkongwei franchise putting the word "Magic" and Shell which has never ever had a monicker "Super Zoomers", hopefully for the benefit of younger PBA fans, we need to gave the right informations for them to truly enjoy each PBA seasons on wikipedia. thanks and more power. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edmon74 (talkcontribs) 12:00, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if the source came from Manila Standard, then its legitimate, perhaps sportwriters before could give a PBA teams as many monickers, never thought of that before when I was following the PBA games in the 80s, as I relied on sports magazines and the PBA commentators themselves covering the games, (I think i've been so sensitive on monickers hehe), regarding my Crispa-Toyota infos, the resource persons came from MyPBA.com, as those members in the forums knows very well PBA historians Atty.Percy Flores and Jay P.Mercado, they've always provide the best informations when talking about the early years of the PBA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edmon74 (talkcontribs) 12:21, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is a link that I contributed on 1989 PBA All Filipino Conference Finals, and you hide it and replaced with the 1989 PBA All Filipino Cup Finals even though there are links about the 1989 All Filipino Cup already, the reason why I put it in the 1989 Open and Reinforced Conference the said link is for wikipedia researchers to see, are those semifinals results that I made not worth enough for references? as much as I dont want to speculate or said words, please respect my contributions (Edmon74 08:57, 11 May 2011 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edmon74 (talkcontribs)

The Philippine TV Vandal's name and identity

Oh men, he took his obsession with Us Girls to a different level now. Although I'll disagree on posting his name here for privacy reasons, the only thing that could stop this guy in doing this is to confront him personally since this is "obsession" is going out of control. First he bring it here in Wikipedia, next in YouTube and then in Facebook account. What's next? -WayKurat (talk) 17:04, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No Twitter account related to him. --Kungfu2187 (talk) 00:36, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, he is not just focusing in Us Girls, he is also claiming that Pangarap Kong Jackpot started airing on ABS-CBN in the 60s, a show called Job Network (in which I parodied it as Blowjob Network), DZAB Radyo Alagad in Metro Manila, and also claiming that there are channels 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, and 12 here in Metro Manila. I don't know if he is related to this FB users (rm link) but it seems that he "hacked" these Facebook accounts. After a long list of legitimate wall entries, you will read something about that Us Girls nonsense over and over again. He even dared to vandalize the official Us Girls Facebook page to fuel his obsession even more. This guy just won't like to stop. -WayKurat (talk) 14:02, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, Those are his sidekicks, but they did the Us Girls hoaxes once. Also, Bertrand (a.k.a. Gaytrand) has 2 more Facebook account. He also made a fake fan page of TV5, which was originally created by Arnold Dumlao: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Associated-Broadcasting-Company-TV5/211928625491967. He also invented Development Broadcasting Corporation-1, Power Broadcasting Corporation-6, Wedding Broadcasting Corporation-8 ,and Fortune Broadcasting Corporation-10. Also adds hoax radio stations such as DZAB and DZES. BTW, do you have a Facebook account? (Like our page!) Vgyu 01:05, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Philippine TV Vandal is considered associated to Gerald Gonzalez. --Kungfu2187 (talk) 03:00, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
