Notability of Stav Prodromou

[edit]

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Stav Prodromou has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 14:26, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See Poqet PC and Alien Technology for example. Also CEO at other companies like Peregrine Semiconductor, Integrated Circuit Systems and EVP at Fairchild Semiconductor. He was also Educational Products Division General Manager at Texas instruments which developed the Speak n Spell and other learning aids. Gaiamei (talk) 18:04, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the article into the WP:Article Incubator where it can be developed. You will find it at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Stav Prodromou. In order to establish notability, you need to show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. There is more detail at WP:Notability (people), and good general advice at WP:Your first article. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:56, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I have added over 2 dozen citations related to Poqet, ICS and Alien Technology. I have to do a little more research for Peregrine. I will then begin writing the main body of the article. Gaiamei (talk) 20:37, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have completed a first draft of the article on Stav Prodromou. I still need to tie the references to the cited articles. Do you have other suggestions for me?? Gaiamei (talk) 05:02, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for delay responding - I'll get to it tomorrow. JohnCD (talk) 21:02, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good enough to go, notability is clearly there, and I have "graduated" it back to the main space. Suggestions for improvement: weed out the references a bit, a lot of them don't actually mention him, and given that (e.g.) Poqet has its own article, so its notability is not in doubt, once you have references establishing that he was indeed its CEO, you don't need a lot more that are only about Poqet. A further improvement would be to arrange "in-line" references (see WP:CITE) to link directly from facts stated in the article to the reference that supports them. You could get more comments by a request at WP:Requests for feedback. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 20:36, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. I have also e-mailed him to ask him to post a current CC photo of himself on his user page that I can link to from here. Gaiamei (talk) 23:47, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Vinismo, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vinismo. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — e. ripley\talk 02:31, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Vinismoscreenshot.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:38, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Peregrine Semiconductor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 19:21, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Stav Prodromou 2006.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kelly hi! 13:09, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Madison Rising, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Amazon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
