Musical pages

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Stringed instrument tunings do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. The site you linked on various musically related pages appears to be a thin veneer of "information" heavily sponsored by musiciansfriend.com. In particular, the "intro to modes" page does not add anything particularly useful. Please do not take this personally; I see you have been making other useful contributions. Thanks! __Just plain Bill (talk) 23:45, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Waterfall. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Rivertorch (talk) 16:00, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You have added external links to a number of articles, all of which appear to be related to "Werks Media" or "Dave Allen". IP 12.27.254.129 has been adding similar links. These will probably all be reverted per the WP:EL guideline. Please read WP:SPAM and WP:COI. Thanks. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 17:04, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
