Thank you.

Much thanks for the tags. You've been instrumental in the success of our wikiproject. On behalf of the rest of my AP Biology class, I want to present you with the following - you're efforts with us have truly been deserving of no less. Again, thank you.

The Invisible Barnstar
For all the unseen work you dedicated to the project: you were key in achieving the success our class enjoyed this year, and your efforts certianly were the moral boost that I, as well as other students, needed during the rough beginning. A personal "thank you" as well, for you have truly made my wikipedia experience a pleasurable one; I hope I can take the friendly nature you have shown me and apply it to strangers in my own life. Cheers! FoodPuma 21:12, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello, even though I do appreciate your review of The Lightning Thief, it was not very extensive. There are ac couple of things I would like for you provide for me to help me pass the article:

  • A link to good examples of Good Article like one thats about a book and not one about a series.
  • What she be in each section you told me to make.

If you provide this, the article will be ready in no time.--(NGG) 20:28, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey Wassupwestcoast. I would just to update you on some developments with the WP:Good articles/recent page. Following a bot request, it became apparent that it would be handy to have a bot pipe new additions to WP:GA onto the /recent subpage. Now, I admit that the bot's been having a few problems, but I hope these have now been worked out. It should mean that every 5 minutes the newest additions are added automatically, so all users like you have to do is add the newly listed GA to WP:GA and let the bot do the work. Of course, you're allowed to do it yourself, but you don't have to. Essentially though, you can either carry on as normal or take advantage of the bot, as you wish. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 08:47, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

The idea of a Wizard rock WikiProject was proposed almost two years ago. Now that there are two more bands and a few more Harry and the Potters releases with articles, it would benefit to have a wizard rock task force. There just thirteen articles related to wizard rock, however the task force will not only be a place that improves these articles, but will also be a place to gather sources, build new articles in collaborative sandboxes and discuss uploading the mass of photographs related to wizard rock to WikiCommons (from Flickr). The task force will be under the umbrella of WikiProject Harry Potter.

To get involved within the task force or discuss it, see here. Alex Douglas (talk) 10:05, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

The Lightning Thief

Wow, the article truly looks absolutely amazing now. The only things left to do are the second paragraph in the lead and the style and genre section. I can deffinently pull of the lead part but I really need some help with the style and genre section. As the reviewer, can you help me out? Thanks.--Next-Genn-Gamer 01:11, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Lol, just noticed you sent me a message. I was listenng to the best song ever.--Next-Genn-Gamer 03:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

The Lightning Thief GA

I hope to renominate it after sorting out the issues you raised. Can you please tell me whether the article is short on anything but 1A and 1B? Your suggestions would be appreciated. Pmlineditor  Talk 07:51, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

As the article is right now, 1A and 1B are the big problems. Once those are cleared up, I think the article will have a good chance at GA. Cheers, Wassupwestcoast (talk) 15:33, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

UG99

Can you restore the redirect? Thanks. 208.70.31.186 (talk) 12:06, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

The Lightning Thief

Hello, when you failed the Lightning Thief, you said the plot section was about 700 words. I took it into Word Perfect and it only came out as 549 words. So do you mean the plot and the major characters section put together?--Next-Genn-Gamer 15:51, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I agree. Right now, I get a word count of 549. By the way, 'plot summary' and all the sections have to be in balance with each other. A plot summary that is 500 words long when every other section is barely a 100, would be out of balance. At the moment, the 'plot summary' of The Lightening Thief is still the longest section. Cheers, Wassupwestcoast (talk) 02:59, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
I've reduced the plot summary to 438 words. However, it still remains the longest section of the article. I'll probably re-nom it within a few days. Regards, Pmlineditor 09:16, 5 July 2009 (UTC).

I was just thinking

Hi! I was just thinking ummmmm maybe .... one more time. This time in groups of three which would limit us to 5 articles. A first semester deadline (January) so as not to drag things out. Also less over the top complicated medical issues - more like the Banker Horse Article. You up for it? --JimmyButler (talk) 18:21, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes! And, I think your new format would work better. I still like the idea of tackling North Carolina state flora and fauna. Also, come September, I'll be on Wikipedia much more. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 03:10, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject AP Biology 2009 I copy pasted the html from 2008 into a new page for 2009. It would an excellent format although it may need some tweaking to adapt to this years project.--JimmyButler (talk) 11:22, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Wow - thanks for the valuable feedback on topic selection. I'm reluctant to dictate any particular topic - students tend to use that as a rationale for failure. But your suggestions should - if they take a moment to think - guide them in the appropriate direction. The requirement to justify their topic choice for approval on the project talk page should offer insight into their potential for success. "Its all I could think of" "It looked easy" or "All the good ones were taken" should expose any lack of planning or forethought. --JimmyButler (talk) 17:29, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

"Archbishop of Papua New Guinea"

Greetings to you again from Brisbane, Australia. Someone has created an article "Archbishop of Papua New Guinea" and referred in it to the "Archdiocese of Papua New Guinea." In fact there's no such office and no such archbishopric. (That is of course RC terminology, not Anglican.) This I suppose calls for a merge proposal (not that I know how to do that) but in fact there isn't anything in the article that merits transferring into the article on the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea (which is in fact an Anglican "Province" -- in the sense that the Anglican Church of Canada, the Church of South India and so on are provinces of the Anglican Communion, but it is also only one ecclesiastical province as well, there being only one metropolitan). How do you think this ought to be dealt with? Masalai (talk) 07:13, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Not only is that page not being maintained but its originator appears to have been banned from Wikipedia some time ago. I'm afraid that the merge function is somewhat beyond my ken; in any case, on looking again at the "Archbishop of Papua New Guinea" article, the fact of the matter is that it is -- or was, before I corrected them, leaving the article essentially devoid of content -- replete with misstatements and misapprehensions. I think it would be better deleted altogether. What say ye? Masalai (talk) 04:36, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Ah. You're quite right: that was easy. I blanked the page and redirected with an explanation on the talk page of the original. It seems unlikely anyone will object. Masalai (talk) 09:40, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
I think the explanation for merging and redirecting is more complicated than the actual process :-) Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 14:07, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

WikiBirthday

I saw from here that it's been exactly three years since you joined the project. Happy WikiBirthday! Keep up the good work, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 01:08, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Robert Mihaly

Hello Wassupwestcoast, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I contested the speedy deletion of Robert Mihaly - a page you tagged - because: Surely there are enough indications of importance (commissioned by a number of notable people/organizations). WP:N is another matter more suitable for consideration by AfD or PROD,. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Tim Song (talk) 03:57, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Nope. I'll go with you. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 05:04, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

It appears that there is an effort to delist this FA article. Any assistance or comments you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks. --Filll (talk | wpc) 22:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

I've watchlisted the FAR. And, will jump in. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 01:27, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

And so we wait!

A much more organized approach than last season - despite having 90 fewer days to complete the process. It will be interesting to see whom (if any) take the leap and actually start editing.--JimmyButler (talk) 17:31, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I'm curious to see how these article take shape. So, far very little activity :-) Cheers!Wassupwestcoast (talk) 02:50, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

System seven

Hi mate, your revert there was a bit swift, slackbaba does play with system 7 sometimes, would you please revert, ta. Off2riorob (talk) 02:54, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

yea it did look a bit like vandalism, have a listen here , he was in [1] Ozric tentacles and occasionally plays with Hillage. Regards. Off2riorob (talk) 03:12, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! Cheers, Wassupwestcoast (talk) 03:22, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Novels WP banner

Hi, Wassupwestcoast. I undid your edit to Herta Müller's talk page; FYI, the Novels WikiProject is for novels/novellas/short stories, not those who write them. That's why there are no author FAs listed at Category:FA-Class novel articles. ;) The Bio banner already lists her as being in the "Arts and Entertainment work group", so that's all that is needed for fiction writers. Take care, María (habla conmigo) 14:29, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

OK! Cheers, Wassupwestcoast (talk) 16:25, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Introduction to evolution. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Introduction to evolution (3rd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

I am thinking about improving Harry and the Potters (album), and basing it off the structure of the featured article No Depression (album). I am currently busy for a while writing the Evanna Lynch article, but.. I thought I'd ask if you would like to collaborate on the album article in a couple of months, for good article-class, hopefully/probably. Thanks! Alex Douglas (talk) 16:44, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Sure! Cheers, Wassupwestcoast (talk) 21:01, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Harry Potter: Evanna Lynch

WikiProject Harry Potter has been rather inactive recently. I've been working on the Evanna Lynch article lately, and have based it off the featured article Emma Watson. I thought I'd ask if you would like to collaborate on the article, as part of a possible WikiProject revival. Leave your response at the article's talk page. Thanks!
