Note on infoboxes
[edit]When editing the infoboxes of people, please don't link the country in the place of birth parameter. It's considered WP:OVERLINKing. Also, if the country of birth is the same as their nationality, please don't add the nationality parameter, it's considered redundant. The {{Infobox_person/doc}} page has the documentation on the infobox template. Also, please don't use the & character in Wikipedia articles unless it's part of a proper name. Spell it out "and", it looks more professional that way. WP:AMPERSAND. Ravensfire (talk) 14:46, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Hello, Warsh Kumar
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Mydreamsparrow, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Sanchit Shokeen, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Mydreamsparrow}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Sanchit Shokeen
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sanchit Shokeen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Osarius 08:05, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

- @Warsh Kumar: The template documentation and instructions are at {{Infobox_person#Parameters}} and would be helpful on how to use the template correctly. Ravensfire (talk) 17:15, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Still continuing to use parameters incorrectly, despite the messages about this. Edits have accordingly been reverted. Ravensfire (talk) 12:32, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Please read and follow the warnings you've been given above. Ravensfire (talk) 14:18, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Meet Bros, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conductor. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Baburao Ganpatrao Apte moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. . DMacks (talk) 15:11, 11 September 2021 (UTC)This is your only warning; if you move a page disruptively again, as you did at Krishan_Kumar_Dua, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You;ve continued to make moves contrary to Wikipedia conventions. Wikipedia uses the common names for article titles, which means the usual name readers would use for a person, even if that is different from their full name. STOP moving pages on your own, you very obviously do not understand Wikipedia conventions. Please get this and your other pages moves reversed. This is beyond annoying and getting beyond merely disruptive at this point. Ravensfire (talk) 19:18, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Rohan Nanda
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rohan Nanda, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.
Jiggyziz 🇮🇳Any Help🇮🇳? "Disruptive editing"
[edit]Thank you for your message on my user talk page. It is good that you ask what the issue is, when you are not sure about the reason for the warnings. "Disruptive editing" means that the edits are against Wikipedia policies or guidelines, but that the edits are not vandalism. Unfortunately, even somebody who edits in good faith and thinks that they are improving Wikipedia can be disruptive, if they keep making edits that violate a policy.
You have already had one short block for adding information with no sources; please be aware that all Wikipedia articles should be based on what reliable sources with a reputation for fact checking have already published. This is especially important when the information is about living people. Your edit here (which was the direct reason why I posted a warning above) adds a birth date and a birth place, but does not cite a source. The infobox you edited has two clear notes saying <!-- [[WP:BLP]] policy prohibits inclusion without a cited source that allows [[WP:V]] -->. Have a look at the cited policies, WP:BLP (about biographies) and WP:V (about only posting information that can be verified), and don't remove that kind of note, like you did when you added the unsourced birth date and place.
This information page has been linked a couple of times higher up on this page. Please read it – it will tell you how to include sources for the information you add.
Another thing to keep in mind is that not everything that is published is relevant for an encyclopedia article. Names of family members (especially children) who are not themselves notable are often left out, for instance. That's also part of the WP:BLP policy.
If you have other questions, you can also come to the tea house page, where a number of experienced and friendly editors answer questions about editing. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 10:59, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- I also see issues where you aren't changing your editing style when others point out issues. Some of these are simple things - don't wikilink countries in Infoboxes, don't put the current name for a city, only the name at the time of birth. These have been mentioned, I even linked the documentation page for infoboxes so you could read and confirm what you're being told. No changes. The bad moves you were doing - even when people reverted you, you kept doing them. And to make things worse, no communication from you to at least say - "Yes, I see your message. I'll try to do better." It's really hard to keep assuming good faith when you don't acknowledge what others are saying. I'm glad you finally did and hope you'll be improving as an editor.
- Nobody expects perfection - I got reminded yesterday about an edit I made that wasn't right. And I guarantee you every editor here had moments where they stumbled and made mistakes when they started editing. You learn from when you get reverted by checking the edit summary so you don't keep making the same mistake. If you aren't sure, ask, as Bonadea pointed out. When there aren't any changes and no communication, it does become disruptive editing - it's not fun to revert the same person time and again when they make the same mistake. It's not fun to clean up after the same person time and again with the same problems. Ravensfire (talk) 22:05, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- Warsh Kumar, after Ravensfire and I posted some advice here, you have made two edits. This one changed "Bombay" to "Mumbai" and added the name of a non-notable family member without a source. That's three things you were specifically asked not to do in our posts. This one added unsourced claims about the year of foundation of the company's predecessor. Again, information without a source. There are seven notices and warnings on this page about your adding unsourced content, and that's not counting Ravensfire's and my notices yesterday. Besides, the edit summary for the second edit says "fixed typo", which is clearly not true. Do not leave misleading edit summaries.
- Please regard this as a final warning. --bonadea contributions talk 13:57, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Bonadea So much for the final warning - [3]. No source for date of birth information added to a BLP article. Time for ANI. Ravensfire (talk) 18:50, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if Warsh Kumar adding the DoB, but a quick dumb search for the names "johnny lever" and "johny lever" presents the opposite to the page move. Instead of a bold move, an RM could have been raised with evidence. — DaxServer (talk to me) 18:59, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
