[edit]I am using the cited source as a basis for my edition. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Warsame20 (talk • contribs) 19:11, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- As clearly noted on the page, the government percentage was annulled and is officially being recounted [1]. Kindly desist from indicating otherwise. Thanks, Middayexpress (talk) 19:24, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- That source is from 2009. The recount was cancelled, and the gov has decided to go on using the 2.4 million number.
- Please stop fiddling with the percentages on the Kenya page. They are from the CIA, not the Kenyan government, and Somalis aren't among the numbered populations [2]. Regards, Middayexpress (talk) 20:07, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- I don't understand why you want to belittle the importance Somalis have in Kenya?? Why did you add the word "small" to the description of the cushtic population in Kenya?? Each county in NE Province has a population of over 600,000 people !!
- Bantus and Nilotes together comprise around 97% of residents. Cushitic groups, Arabs, Europeans, etc. thus obviously make up a small minority. That said, the percentages in the infobox are from the CIA, not the Kenyan government. You can't just append a percentage for Somalis to the CIA list based on what you personally think that population's size is relative to other groups. The fact remains that the CIA does not list Somalis among the largest groups in 2014 (not 2009). That infobox parameter on pretty much every country wikipage is also reserved for the actual CIA percentages, and the Kenya page is no different.
