Discretionary sanctions notification
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in the Troubles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Angelica Jade Bastién. You were notified above about the contentious Arab-Israeli conflict topic area, and I removed your addition of this content [1] from the BLP you had recently nominated for deletion as WP:UNDUE because it is sourced directly to something written by the subject of the article, but the biographies of living persons policy also applies, and much better sourcing is needed before contentious content is added to the article. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

ANI notice

- I have removed extended confirmed permission from your account, since you appear to have gained the permission by gaming the edit count requirements through many inconsequential edits, which are contrary EPC's requirement for substantive experience. You may request return of the permission after another 250 substantive edits, over at least three months, at WP:AN. WP:ANI notice is here [2] Acroterion (talk) 01:06, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]- == Introduction to contentious topics ==
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
The page which you recently edited and which comes under this rule is Roger Waters. Burrobert (talk) 06:01, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
Your edits
[edit]You seem to be removing verbs from entries for Events in some Year articles. This cuts across the Wikipedia guideline that favours complete sentences, so please don't do it. Deb (talk) 17:02, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
"Disruptive editing" may be given as the official reason why I have been blocked, but the real reason is for challenging an anti-Israel bias on the '2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel' page. I included names like Piers Corbyn and George Galloway, who have denied that children were killed and, in Galloway's case, that Hamas militants raped Israelis. These entries have been deleted by editors who are clearly partisan and anti-Israel. Over 95% of my Wikipedia edits were unrelated to this page or any Middle East-related content.
Decline reason:
Not a valid reason provided to unblock. Your "95% of unrelated edits" were mostly problematic automated editing to game extended-confirmed, as per ANI. Daniel (talk) 21:47, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Your personal attack on me
[edit]Before your series of personal attacks was removed, you wrote about me and others: Have any of you ever reflected on the life you're living – no career, no significant other, no children – and wondered if it was all worth it?
I will answer. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I have been happily married for 42 years, and my loving wife is sitting beside me now. We have two adult sons, who we see regularly, and a delightful granddaughter who I visited with two days ago. Although I am now semi-retired at age 71. I worked full time for 50 years and have owned a small business with an excellent reputation for 30 years. One of my sons works in my business. Two years ago, my wife and I bought our retirement home for cash, and three weeks ago, we bought a new hybrid car paying 50% down. As for somehow being anti-Israel, I am Jewish and have visited Israel twice. I also served as the president of our synagogue's board of trustees in 1998-2000. I am both pro-Israel and pro-Palestine. Writing and researching has been one of my hobbies since my teenage years, and it is an honor and a pleasure to contribute to and serve as an administrator for this successful website that gets billions of pageviews every month. - More to the point, can Mr WW type at 75 wpm with 99% accuracy, like I can? That would save him a hell of a lot of his precious time. Deb (talk) 16:39, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
