Leonardo

[edit]

Re the tank- It pays to read very carefully, before editting. The sentence says that Leonardo "conceptualised" a tank. It doesn't say that he invented it, or that he was the first to have the idea. It's very carefully worded, because he didn't "invent" it and we don't know who first thought of it.

The Leonardo page gets between 12,000 and 25,000 hits per day. More than half a million people read it every month. It is really important that it remains stable. If you jam something into the introduction that is contradictory and disruptive to the text, then you are compromising the quality of the article for its readers.

Please read the sentence that you created, and you will see immediately that that the sense of the sentence has been wrecked by jamming in something that you considered to be a "correction".

He conceptualised a helicopter, supposedly a tank, but Hans Talhoffer records this when Da Vinci was seven, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull, and he outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics.

Please don't do this sort of contradictory editting again. In any article. This is the sort of thing that should be the subject of a note on the Leonardo talk page, saying that your research informs you that Hans Talhoffer had already invented the tank (or whatever it was that your research showed).
