Halifax Common(s)

[edit]

This is in danger of degenerating into an edit war. Please read the discussion page concerning the name, and provide some justification or evidence for your claim that calling Commons common usage is a mistake. Thank you in advance for doing your part to resolve this amicably. Awien (talk) 13:28, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Awien,

The trend is moving toward calling the Common by its correct name even though there is a "common" mistake made by some people. When I came to Halifax in the seventies I always heard it called the Common and most of the people I know still call it by that name. While I do hear some people use the incorrect term from time to time, I have seen nothing that suggests that the "Commons" is the correct name so it is accurate to characterize it as incorrect. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just believe the right term should be used and hope that people like yourself who are passionate about Wikipedia, would embrace accuracy in what is, after all, an encyclopedia.

Best wishes, WaldoWaldoWordwatcher (talk) 14:40, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
