If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. PhilKnight (talk) 17:13, 24 September 2023 (UTC)- Hi! Wake Tech is trying to keep its Wikipedia page current and accurate. Your decision is wrong and will allow for misinformation from other users. I hope you will allow the college to update OUR content. Thanks! Waketechcc (talk) 17:39, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- It isn't your content, you do not own the article. You should read WP:PAID and WP:COI. PhilKnight (talk) 17:45, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- Dude! I work for the college! Anything I put on the page is something I wrote AND own as a representative of the school. Waketechcc (talk) 17:49, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

- I know you work for the college, that is why I asked you to read WP:PAID. I suggest you read WP:COI and WP:OWN. PhilKnight (talk) 17:52, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Publish what you feel is fine. I’m trying to keep your site accurate and factual. I wish you well. Waketechcc (talk) 17:55, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- BTW: PhilKnight? 99% sure that’s not your real name. But kudos if you rock Nike. How can Wikipedia allow that, but not a factual and accurate change to a page. Seems selective and not intuitive. Waketechcc (talk) 18:07, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- Phil Knight is my real name, I am not the owner of Nike. Your changes were a possible copyright violation, and were unsourced. PhilKnight (talk) 18:19, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
I’m on the web team that made the changes. You can find and source them here: https://www.waketech.edu/about-wake-tech/campuses-centers
Please source it as Wikipedia needs. Since my changes were not allowed. Thankssssss! Waketechcc (talk) 18:26, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- The source you have provided is a primary source, Wikipedia articles should mostly be written from secondary sources. Wikipedia articles are not written by the subjects of the articles, but by independent editors to avoid bias. Hope this helps. PhilKnight (talk) 18:30, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- I can respect that, and in theory it’s a good plan. However, every time I check our page it’s full of false information. Thus the reason why I’m attempting to make it as accurate as possible. Hope this helps. Waketechcc (talk) 18:36, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
