You deleted the article titled U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy that I started. It is a non-profit that worked for and helped create the page because it ties to Citizen Diplomacy article on Wikipedia.

Charlie Wittmack Page

[edit]

You previously deleted the Charlie Whittmack page under the grounds that he wasn't important enough and the fact that the previous author did not cite his sources correctly. Now that he is much more famous, (attempting a "World Triathalon"; which is a swim across the English Channal, a bike ride across Europe into the Himalyas, then a summit of Mt. Everest; this earning him a spot on the cover of Momentum: Endurance Sports Magazine and many other magazine and newspaper wrote articles featured about him) and I will proparly cite my sources, will you give me permission to restore his page? Requesting Guidance for correcting a Wikipedia entry

[edit]

Hi, we corresponded a few years ago when I attempted to revise the Wikipedia entry for The New York Botanical Garden. I work there in the Communications department and have received numerous comments about inaccuracies and missing information in the entry.

Back in 2008 I had attempted to add "facts about the Garden" to the main entry but it was rejected, and I was told it would be best as a linked document.

But what can I do, as an inexperienced wiki contributor, to revise the entire entry to better reflect the full scope of the Botanical Garden in science, education, exhibitions, and living collections?

Also, how can I make the corrections without having them rejected or altered again?

Thank you for any help you can provide. My email address is nleshi@nybg.org and my work number is 718.817.8658.

-- Nick

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:20, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Truagh

[edit]

I know this was four years ago but was that Truagh article you deleted on the 02:54, 26 September 2007 about the townland in southeast County Clare in Ireland or was it entirely different?

Sorry I'm just trying to do a lot of the unwritten articles on locations in County Clare and I'd just like to know the reason for deleting it was.

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Orphaned non-free image File:Pincherle.jpeg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Pincherle.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions. If you have a question, place a {{helpme}} template, along with your question, beneath this message.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.

you're ridiculous

[edit]

"looks like a neologism without much mileage". That's what you wrote on the erotic capital / sexual capital page. Meanwhile, in only three years, the term has been picked up and written about by tens of scholars, and is now the sole topic of two books.

I think you owe an apology to that page. At minimum, you ought to be more judicious in making summary judgments such as this. You hardly have the qualifications to prognosticate on the potential future significance of social scientific concepts. I think, "Wafulz", it's time for a little reality check, buddy.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:James Lloyd Turner.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:James Lloyd Turner.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:53, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:James Lloyd Turner.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:James Lloyd Turner.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:34, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of change

[edit]

Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Blessed Sacrament Elementary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page is not needed, and should be deleted.

1st Reason, 2 of the "links/articles" don't even exist. 2nd Reason, because the 2 other articles don't exist this page is not needed, and could be replaced with a simple redirect.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Venkat International Public School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. चंद्र शेखर (talk) 07:45, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
