Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first pages you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that page.

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you've had a new article rejected or deleted, new article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. I suggest there are no conficts of interest in the truth. My proposed edits were merely (a) to disclose the whereabouts of the work of art in question currently listed as "localisation inconnue.", and, (b) to clarify authorship via a citation to a book dealing specifically with the question of attribution and authorship of this particular work. The work is currently listed as "(attribution)", a term which when presented in this way means not by the artist.
These two edits would change and qualify the current listing to show that the location is known (contrary to the current Wikipedia statement which is clearly wrong by suggesting that the location is unknown), and, moreover, that authorship is, with reference to the book cited, and in the absence of any known academic references to the contrary, given to Michel Anguier himself, i.e., he created the work according to the many good arguments contained within the book that I have tried to cite.
If authorship is open to debate I will gladly debate it, having studied the work of art in question and the many arguments surrounding it. The fact that the current location of the work is with an art dealer does not change the validity of the statement of location, and, I submit, should not be a conflict of interest simply because the work is held with an art dealer (a company); as you might know, most of the works in the major museums were held by an art dealer at some point before acquisition.
I reiterate that I make no money out of this editing whatsoever. WESTBURY FINE ART (talk) 17:13, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "WESTBURY FINE ART", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:19, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:15, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
