Hi, Please assume AGF and try to use the proper warning templates as a first warning, as you did to User talk:70.144.0.171. The warning template messages are carefully designed to guide good-faith testers and dissuade bad-faith vandals. The warnings get increasingly stronger at higher levels, and when they pass level 4 you should report them to AIV for an admin to consider a block. Thanks. -- Alexf42 11:45, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your new account W950712Bot

[edit]

Hi, I notice your account is labelled as a BOT account. We usually don't open separate accounts for bots (including 'bot' in the name) unless they are approved, or intended to be approved, via the 'Request for approvals' process (see the username policy). Are you considering going through this process? If not, would you be okay with making these edits on your main account, or renaming this account?

Additionally, the article developed country must follow its sources, one of which is the World Bank high income country list. Note that the list includes 65 countries, rather than 60. That's why I had to revert the Bot's edit you've made. Eliko (talk) 15:39, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bot blocked

[edit]

I have blocked your bot as it appears to be unauthorised - and is uploading unlicensed images - see here. I have also blocked what appears to be either your bot or your own sock puppet IP 211.179.112.158 - as it is making the same edits. You will have enough time to lodge a Request for Approval before the bot is unblocked - but if you do not I will return to re-block the bot. Please make your application as soon as possible.--VS talk 07:23, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, how are you?

I've seen your last changes, and I'm sure you were not aware of the following fact:

The World Bank classifies 66 economies as High Income Economies. Among these economies, 49 are UN members, while 17 are not:

Aruba, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Channel Islands, Faroe Islands, French Polynesia, Greenland, Guam, Hong Kong, Isle of Man, Macau, Netherlands Antilles, New Caledonia, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Virgin Islands.

Have a nice day.

Eliko (talk) 16:22, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Taiwan can't add high income country. because Taiwan is unrecognized country. and Taiwan's GDP per capita and GNI per capita, it is not known exactly. w950712 —Preceding undated comment was added at 06:43, 7 November 2008 (UTC).[reply]

You've made five mistakes, as following:
  • The list includes also economies which are not "recognized countries". I've given you (on your talk page and on the talk page of the article) 17 examples of economies (e.g. Guam), not being "recognized countries", which are classified by UN as High Income Economies.
  • Taiwan is classified by UN as a High Income Economy. What's the difference between Taiwan and all of the other 16 economies (e.g. Guam)? None of them is a recognized country, so what?
  • The list is not limited to economies whose GNI per capita is known: it includes many countries whose GNI is unknown, e.g. Andorra, Bahama, Liechtenstein, Qatar, and the other 17 economies mentioned above (e.g. Guam), see here on the fourth page and at the bottom of page 3.
  • The list is not limited to economies whose GDP per capita is known. it includes many countries whose GNI is unknown, e.g. Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Nauru, San Marino, and the other 17 economies mentioned above (e.g. Guam). See the IMF table.
  • Taiwan's GDP per capita is known exactly. See the IMF table, here.

Straw poll - High income country

Thank you for your vote, please remember to contribute to the discussion for your view. Kind regards Pds0101 (talk) 06:02, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Developed Country

[edit]

I noted that you undid my edit. The name of the country is the Republic of China, not Taiwan. Please refer to Chinese naming convention. If you would like to discuss further, please see talk:Developed country.--pyl (talk) 13:22, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

?

[edit]

Please give a rationale for this edit, rather than just reverting without any discussion. There is a lot of collaboration in this project and it helps if people know your reasons for your edits. Repeatedly reverting without giving any reason is a form of edit warring. So, please explain at the talk page, or here, why you reverted. Thank you, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 05:03, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Israel is still on the list, as you can see here. HOOTmag (talk) 09:13, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Climate zones map.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Climate zones map.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:33, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
