Big Top 40

[edit]

Hi, you said that my edit wasn’t true as you checked the evidence. However, the evidence you found was incorrect, as the Official Charts company is completely different to the Big Top 40 Chart Show, therefore they have different number 1 singles. I undid your edit and added cited my source so I hope this is ok? Thanks KS142 (talk) 09:07, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@KS142: Apologies for my confusion, and thank you for citing a source! I'm sure that what you've done is great, but will see if I can improve the article at all later.  viljo talk 09:23, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! :-)

[edit]

Hi there! Thanks for removing that vandalism from Children in the Holocaust. I just wanted to leave you a message and let you know that I appreciate it very much. Keep up the great work, and I hope you have an excellent day! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:48, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Los Haitises National Park, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Domestic & General

[edit]

I did not make a mistake. The page says it needed to remove promotional content, be cleaned up and resubmitted by a different party. I was doing exactly that till you disturbed the process. 1) Why are you hawk eyeing a unpublished page for modifications? Is this how wikipedia works? I thought it was open to people editing? 2601:989:4300:5D08:FCFF:B4D0:18EC:F90B (talk) 18:52, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! Firstly, let me apologise if I disturbed your editing; not at all my intention. I'm a volunteer for the recent changes patrol looking for & reverting vandalism on Wikipedia, and I notice your edit removed the AfC templates, which is why I reverted it. You can see that the top template on the page says "Please do not remove reviewer comments or this notice until the submission is accepted." I would absolutely encourage you to clean up and resubmit the page, but just watch out for templates that are part of the process and shouldn't be removed :)  vwilding talk 18:59, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

my noble title

[edit]

I have document proof from the House of Homestead for my noble title! Thanks!

Quinto L. Dolci Qdolci (talk) 22:29, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Qdolci:: That's great to hear! Wikipedia is based on reliable, published sources - people reading articles need to be able to make sure that the information they're reading isn't made up! If you have sources you can cite, then I would encourage you to re-add your title with these sources, but until then, even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it.  vwilding talk 22:39, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply! I will add the certificate when I get it scan! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qdolci (talkcontribs) 22:47, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Lil Baby article.

[edit]

Yo, you might have made a mistake taking off my contribution. Chigoziriis16 (talk) 20:26, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thank you for your contributions. I reverted it as you appear to be adding unsourced information about yourself, going against the policy on autobiographies. To back up the information you're adding, you need to cite reliable sources.  vwilding talk 20:33, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Those warnings

[edit]

Are you kidding when you put them on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Äpril Föölß Tag (talkcontribs) 21:09, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, no kidding intended, vandalism is strictly discouraged on Wikipedia and your actions could lead to a block if you continue. April Fools Day is funny, don't get me wrong, but we're here to build an encyclopedia and vandalism goes against that mission. If you'd like more info, I'd suggest reading WP:VANDAL.  vwilding talk 21:14, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've stopped, but CLCStudent keeps reverting my edits, what's going on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Äpril Föölß Tag (talkcontribs) 21:21, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at House of Commons of the United Kingdom, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Roxy, the dog. wooF 10:51, 1 April 2019 (UTC) [reply]

@Roxy the dog: please see the diff [[1]], you have warned me instead of the perpetrator whose changed I reverted and warned. You have restored the page to its vandalised state.  vwilding talk 10:54, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Big mistake on my part, very sorry. I'll look at the article if you haven't corrected it already -Roxy, the dog. wooF 11:04, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah it's no problem, these things happen, although I've just left a message on your talk page not seeing this! Just wanted to clear things up, thank you for reading my message :)  vwilding talk 11:07, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Recent inactivity

[edit]

Hi VWilding - I noticed that you haven't responded to the last task at your CVUA page, and checking your contribs I see that you haven't edited in the last couple of weeks. That's totally fine, if you're on holiday, just taking a break or whatever then we can pick it up again when you've got a bit more time - it it's going to be a short break, I'll just wait for you to ping me from the page. If you intend to take a prolonged break, I'll put the page on hold so I can free up a slot for other potential trainees - please can you let me know? Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 09:46, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya Girth, lemme just apologise for not letting you know sooner about my inactivity. I've recently been on holiday, am back now, and I'm looking forward to getting back into CVUA and Wiki editing. The one thing I will note is that I'm an A Level student and so my activity will be greatly decreased from now until the start of June - at the moment, I think I'll be able to keep up both, but if I need to take a longer break I'll be happy to let you know.  vwilding talk 17:48, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response - hope you enjoyed your holiday, and totally understand about the reduction in activity while you're preparing for exams - you absolutely must prioritise them. Use Wikipedia editing as a way to unwind, rather than a procrastination activity! I won't send you any more chasing messages, just respond as and when you have time. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 18:38, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Vwilding. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 20:14, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations - this is well-deserved.GirthSummit (blether) 21:32, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to Garden Corner page

[edit]

The information about Garden Corner being the location for the house in Wanted for Murder is incorrect. I am very familiar with the property, having worked as the architect on a recent restoration. I watched the film because of the wikipedia page and the location is clearly the next door house, Garden Corner is 13 Chelsea Embankment and the house in the film is 14 Chelsea Embankment. The interior views are also completely unrelated to Garden Corner, which is an oak panelled arts and crafts design. 84.71.56.110 (talk) 14:22, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will confess that I'm not an expert on it, and your first hand knowledge is greatly appreciated. However, to ensure that Wikipedia is a trustworthy source of information we require a reliable source to add information and I believe that the information you removed was properly sourced? Check out the page I've linked and if you have any questions I'll happily help you edit it so it's accurate and properly sourced :)  viljo talk 14:25, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

you really need to look at the the references

[edit]

You appear to not read the references. Reconsider removing the hard work of others and concentrate on finding supporting references that are better than the ones you see. Put back the additions I made yourself. And I will call you what you are: inconsiderate.2601:40F:4082:5660:2C1E:63A8:B67D:D0BE (talk) 22:57, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please accept my sincere apologies. I use a tool called AntiVandal which only showed me the second edit, not the first. Please see Wikipedia:Vandalism if you'd like to understand why people like me roll back edits.  viljo talk 23:07, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your apology. I try not to put too much on so teenagers can do some thinking when they look at content. I try to attach references that will lead to further information.2601:40F:4082:5660:2C1E:63A8:B67D:D0BE (talk) 23:23, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
